What an absolute gem of a dining experience! The Noisy Oyster in Paternoster is so much more than just a restaurant – it’s an atmosphere, an occasion, and a memory all wrapped in one. The ambience is truly magical, with twinkling fairy lights draped across the ceiling, cozy seating, and softly glowing table lamps that make the whole setting feel intimate yet vibrant. The music set the perfect tone, enhancing the charm of the evening. The food was nothing short of superb. For starters, we had Pani Puri – crispy Indian puffed snacks with a burst of flavor – and Loaded Hummus on Crispy Flatbread. Without exaggeration, these were the best starters we’ve had in a very long time dining out. For mains, my husband enjoyed the Hake Velouté, which was stunningly flavorful and beautifully prepared. I had the Rajma Masala curry, which was hearty, comforting, and delicious – though I must admit, after tasting the fish, I secretly wished I’d ordered it too! Dessert was the perfect ending: Affogato ice cream, and to my delight, they even prepared mine with decaf. Simple, elegant, and absolutely delectable. Our waiter was top class – friendly, attentive, and full of personality – adding to what was already a flawless evening. The Noisy Oyster is a 5-star experience all around. It’s not just dinner, it’s a celebration of flavor, ambience, and hospitality. We would happily travel from Cape Town again just for the joy of dining here on a special occasion. Highly...

Having known about the Noisy Oyster for some time but never having visited, we popped in for an impromptu lunch on Sunday afternoon. The new owners Pieter and Gustav gave us such a warm welcome and we felt right at home in their colourful and quirky garden.

I could honestly write an essay on our experience here. We opted for 7 starters to split between 4 of us, with a couple bottles of local chenin. I honestly could not fault one dish. The food was cooked with such love, and you could taste it in every bite.. Beef tartar, prawn ceviche, velvety chicken liver parfait, springbok carpaccio, beautiful calamari in pesto lemon butter, snoek croquettes and oysters (of course 😄)

Beside the phenomenal food, the service was beyond outstanding!! Pieter kept our wine flowing- refill our glasses, bought out our dishes staggered based on what would go well together and kept us laughing all afternoon, his sense of humor may have actually topped the food 🤣

Love every minute of our afternoon with them and cannot...

I absolutely love this type of vibe: casual and quirky with great food. The kids said they get a 5stars just for pitting the olives in our nicoise. For starters we shared three raw oysters, three poached oysters (probably the best overall part of the meal for me Bc tasty and unique!) and a tuna in phyllo which was the one dish I did not like at all. Tuna was thin, the Mayo sauce was not my favorite with too little flavor and there was too much phyllo to tuna. It just wasn’t nearly as tasty as the others. For mains We shared a steak, the hake nicoise and the seafood Laksa. The Laksa is very hearty: enormous prawns, at least 6 mussels with generous portion of fish and broth with the noddles. My friend recommended and now I’m off to thank him. Excellent meal and fantastic service. It is not inexpensive but compared to another local place I also reviewed, much better value and far...

We ate and drank fine wines and seafood at The Noisy Oyster, having never been before, with it being the first restaurant on our left arriving through the town after a long drive and many ry-goes, we were starving and very thirsty, we arrived at an oasis although we heard that as soon as we had received our delicious mouth-watering wine, the town had been experiencing power outages, so we had to enjoy our wine cool with some ice, we truly could not complain. The food was better than we expected, we enjoyed sitting outside in the cool of the warm day. There were cute Jack Russell's visiting with a couple, there was a young couple with a baby. The garden is tastefully decorated, quirky and fun. People were arriving as we were leaving on an early Friday afternoon.
