A gem in the restful and historical fishing town of Paternoster, the Paternoster Manor definitely gets it right. Its calm and classy demeanor is warm and welcoming, as it offers its guests a restful and placid experience. It has quiet, dignified spaces where one can lounge, read a book (there is an interesting book collection here), watch the waves (and whales – when in season), sip tea or coffee, have a drink (there is an honesty bar) or soak in the jacuzzi. The rooms are comfy and cushy, with well-appointed furniture and the most heavenly beds and pillows. The artwork is mesmerizing and the whole experience is soulful. Its location allows easy access to the beach and the waterfront, with all the nice places to eat within walking distance.||There is enough room here for the solo traveler, the digital nomad (the internet connection is reliable and fast), the vacationing family, couples on retreat and everyone else in between. The staff are also accommodating and efficient, and service is bar none. Will definitely think of...
Read moreThe Paternoster Manor Guest House is a brilliant place to stay whilst in Paternoster.
As soon as we arrived we felt comfortable and welcome.
The house is located in an area a short distance from great food and the sea, perfect for families or partners!
Our room was nice and airy with great lighting and views looking onto the sea; the bathroom is also a decent size. There’s ample storage for clothing and luggage - we had two big suitcases and were able to fit them in fine.
Parking is available and is better than other guest houses along the way, there weren’t many cars parked there at the time... An added bonus.
The beds are great to sleep on, just as good as many big hotel chains.
Would recommend this as a great place for a small family or couple, definitely...
Read moreLoved the hotel, we were there for one night, check in was extremely smooth, the room was very pretty – loved the complimentary sherry and fruit in the room, and we had a wonderful view of the sea. Breakfast was awesome, cheese, fruit, yoghurt and a full cooked breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful, and overall, it was a great experience. The hotel is geared for both summer and winter visitors (both air-conditioning and electric blankets in the room), which is perfect for the Western Cape where you can literally have four seasons in one day! Within easy walking distance to the Wharf (which has the art gallery and restaurants) so the location was great! Would...
