Week before schools reopened in July 2023 we stayed at the Penninsula. 5th floor apartement. Views are to die for. The facilities excellent. Some of people are plusses like Happiness and the security guard the night before we booked out. Allthough we knew that they were busy with renovations on their lifts, which by the way are very needed, we did not expect the constant banging daily right through the hotel. No notice to warn anyone. Banging started early in mirning and carried on to late. As we entered on our first day one could see that the reception area are in serious need for a total makeover. The tiles, the furniture etc. In the rooms the furniture are in serious bad shape. Our bucket seats in our room had very bad legs. One was scared to sit and the legs might break off. Being rated a 4 star hotel and being guests at this hotel for at least last 10 years(timeshare), one could see the dropping of services, looks of the rooms, etc. etc. The carpets in corridors, and in units are in serious need to be cleaned. Maybe its time to think of getting in new service providers as the current ones are not doing a good job. The undercover parking was turned into general storage at certain places. It did not look neat and upmarket at all. The security sits in their little ofice at parking area. Do not make any person feels secure at all. No one offers to help carry luggage or even offer a trolley. This visit was a total dissapointment and to be honest. Complaints was given in to the general manager etc. Not one word from his side. In our time there, several guest complained about same situatioms. Couple of guest booked out earlier due to the noise levels and the bad service delivery. On our last day we spoke to a very kind lady who admit certain complaints of us were given in by several other guests as well. (Mrs, or Me Essop) In general my opinion is that this hotel definite are no 4 * hotel anymore. They need to have a serious "pick me up" in looks, in service...
Read moreOur 2nd vacation in Cape Town using our Easy Holiday Club points. We intend to visit Cape Town at least once a year. After our first visit experience to the Peninsula All-Suite Hotel, we intend to return annually and make it our home away from home. Here is why: Location, surrounding shops and restaurants, 4Km from water Front and CBD, Clifton beaches & Camps Bay is just down the road, friendly staff, indoor amenities, the suites. On arrival the door staff greeted, Carly at reception was just so friendly and helpful. When I booked, I could not get the same suite for both weeks so I ended booking one suite for the 1st week and another suite for the 2nd week. I asked Carly to see if we cannot get a suite higher up and if possible for both weeks. She managed to get us into Suite 607. Towards the end of the 1st week I got a call from Jeffrey who informed me that we will remain in the suite for the 2nd week - THAT IS SERVICE for you!!! On the 2nd day my car's battery decided it had enough. Thanks to the shuttle driver, Waafiq, who gave me a lift to Super Quick who lent me a power pack to jump start my car. Waafiq helped me with this and my car started. I was able to drive to Super Quick and replace the battery. THANK You Waafiq. Wey have a well equipped gym which my wife used every day of our stay. Every morning at 7am we were there. Thank you to the staff who opened the gym for us each morning. I also made use of the sauna. We met Moira Mahon, the resident personal trainer. She was friendly and helpful. The hotel has two restaurants. The one was closed during our stay but the Strolla was open and we enjoyed a few meals and drinks there during our stay. The cleaning staff did a fine job as well. Overall a very well run hotel and is deserving of the 5 stars!!! Thank you to management & team!! See you again next year and the next and...
