After all the hype, I decided to give Brash a try as part of the CPT burger run. As usual, though, when expectations are set super high, it's hard to keep up.
For R155, you get a macdaddy burger and fries (no drink) and ultimately... its no where near worth it. The Price-to-quality ratio is just not there. The patties whilst extremely crispy are way too thin. I'd be surprised if it's really 2x 200g patties with how thin they are.
In the build-up to Brash, I kept hearing "its like a McDonald's burger." Which is actually a fair comparison. The fries are near identical, and the burger reminds me of a quarter pounder with cheese (and i haven't had McDonald's in years!) But people saying it tastes like McDonald's when you are spending 3 times what you'd spend at McDonald's is not the flex they think it is 🫣.
Brash is not at all a terrible burger spot. Their burgers are good 👍 max 6/10, however, for the price and the abundance of established burger spots as well as upcoming pop-ups. I just don't feel they've lived up to the hype compared to many other halal burger spots ( Talladega, Smasht, Smokin Joes, Mj's, etc)
Brash is definitely a tourist attraction in their aesthetic. A typical American themed burger spot with a lively atmosphere. The service is also relatively quick, considering how many people were there, however, they only have 2 burger options on the menu, so that would be expected.
All in all, if you haven't tried it, I'd try it once, but I wouldn't really be rushing to come back anytime soon. Ultimately, it's just not worth it in comparison to other...

This cozy fast-food cafe focuses exclusively on burgers. The interior is very appealing, featuring light colors, plenty of windows that create an airy atmosphere, and several red accents that add a vibrant touch. It evokes the authentic vibe of a classic American burger joint.
FOOD:
The restaurant specializes in simple burgers, fries, and quick, efficient service. We ordered two different burgers—the Classic and the Mac Daddy—along with a portion of fries. The burgers arrived swiftly, literally within five minutes. The brioche buns were soft and fluffy, lightly toasted, complemented by sauce, pickles, American cheese, and two thin, crispy patties. The flavor of the burgers was excellent and well-balanced, though I found the meat flavor a bit understated due to the thin patties. I would recommend adding an extra patty for a more robust taste. The fries were perfectly cooked—thin, crispy sticks, well salted and served with their signature sauce.
SERVICE:
You place your order at the counter; the establishment is cashless, and you receive your burger in just about five minutes! The cashier was very courteous, helped with the menu choices, and explained the concept of the place. Everything was top-notch.
VERDICT:
I recommend these burgers if you’re in Sea Point. It’s a fast, tasty, and filling option for a quick bite. This isn’t a spot for lingering over a meal, but if you want something simple and speedy, it’s one of the best burgers places in...
Read moreMan oh man. I feel a bit silly because I'd been avoiding this place. It felt so chaotic and hipster-ish when driving by, I chalked it down to a fad. We'll, assumption is the mother of all F-ups hey.
Firstly, the service from the owner is really admirable. It was busy but he was still attentive and friendly. The team were so efficient.
It was very packed I won't lie which isn't my thing as an introvert but because the service is so fast and effortless I wasn't too stressed.
Finally. The FOOD. God almighty. The burger bun is like a cloud. You can eat it with your lips. The beef is a bit scant but it's a smash burger so don't expect a quarter pounder. The fries are very golden arches and if you munch them immediately they are divine. Not so great cold. I cried softly to myself as I destroyed my Bar One Sunday and lost contact with my gf as she disappeared into the Biscoff Sunday. Oh, I also had the Cloudy Lemonade. It's a bit steep at R45 for a cup but very tasty. Pro-Tip. Drink all the lemonade until just the slushy lemon ice remains and then dump Coke in there. Thank me later.
Overall BRASH was...
