We had two nights there. That is clean and recommended for novice of guest house of Korean-style. There are a church nearby and also a lot of Korean restaurants and the famous coffee chain store and a convenience store. You can cache the local currency with a credit card from the ATM of the convenience store. Since a full-fledged restaurant in the guest house is not, please go out to eat dinner with friends. We enjoyed Jjigae soup and Don Don wine at the restaurant and then walked from around 8:00 pm to the old observatory to join the illuminated events. It became late after walking around the park but we did not get lost because the Cross of the Church lighted green until morning. Basic communication in English by the staffs is no problem. You can reserve Korean-style breakfast at the reception. Since the breakfast is not expensive as compared to the shop in front of the station, the reservation of breakfast is recommended in order to save time for...
Read moreOur family of four stayed at the HwangNamGuan hanok guesthouse in April 2016. It was a wonderful stay. A delicious traditional Korean breakfast was included. Taxis were plentiful but with this location, we walked everywhere, to the Cheonmachong Tomb, the Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond (stunning) , the Cheomseongdae gardens, etc. It was spring so cherry blossoms lined both sides of the streets. The hanok itself was beautiful in its traditional style and amazing architecture. You can choose to sleep on the floor or request a room with beds. We were in a very spacious 3-room suite with sliding partitions, complete with a modern bathroom. Our kids enjoyed the free wifi. The hanok also has traditional korean clothing you can wear and pose for pictures at no charge. Staff was helpful and attentive while limited English was spoken. If we find ourselves back in Gyeongju, we will...
Read more2022/14/09. Canadian traveller here. I am so glad I was able to book a spot here 2 weeks in advance because they are normally booked. When I arrived the general manager greeted us along with his staff. They were all so kind and welcoming. We arrived 1 hour early and they allowed us to check in.
It’s at the heart of the village and walking distance to bike/golf cart rentals/ and all the major tourist attractions. The exterior is beautiful both during the day time and night time! I recommend taking the time to take in the experience.
Keep in mind that the walls are thin therefore use your whisper voices in the evening. They also have air conditioning inside and a shower that is attached to the sink. It offers a bath sponge, a hair tie, razed and...
