My local fried and I were staying at an Airbnb and it was rather late already. On this street, there are restaurants and cafés, but they close relatively early, so keep that in mind. We had essentially a choice of beer and (chicken, pizza, or something else I forgot). So I chose chicken. Rather typical in South Korea, the establishments are referred to as: Chimaek (치맥). They are open late, which is great, and they take credit card! When waking in, you have a choice of sitting on chairs, or kicking off the shoes to it on elevated space. I would say shoes off for sure. They only have two flavors - Soy and Spicy, and they are both delicious. I am partial to spicy. They do have boneless, but that is not korean style as far as this establishment. There is a washroom in the back, where they will offer slippers to trudge through the back, but watch out westerners - It is a squatter! I would indeed recommend if you are in the area and looking for a late dinner or even late night snack!

Delicious KFC (Korean fried chix) off the beaten path! Nestled in a small off-street nook popular with both students and families we could see. One of few late night eateries in Gyeongju town! Family run with charismatic mom and high quality chicken with light crisp coating and tasty sauce choices. We had the half/half with classic (comes with great sea salt) and the spicy red garlic sauce. The moo pickle is fresh, crisp and perfectly pickled. And comes with a simple cabbage slaw with the archetypical 1000 Island dressing I grew up with. Be patient for everything is battered to order. Limited seating. Also they do a heavy load of takeout orders. A wonderful local place!!! Has menu in Korean, English and Chinese.

My husband and I patronised thankyou chicken twice within our few days here. We got the regular fried chicken the first time and the boneless fried chicken on our second visit. Both were equally good though I’m personally biased towards the boneless chicken. They use fresh chicken meat and orders are made only upon order. The 20min wait each time was worth it for hot and crispy chicken!! The joint is run by a friendly couple who spoke little English but are very helpful:) I highly recommend to visit this joint if you’re looking for fresh fried chicken in the area!

Thankyou Chicken delivered an absolutely amazing Korean experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us with such warmth and friendliness that it instantly set the tone for the whole evening. Their inviting and attentive service really made us feel welcome and added so much to the atmosphere.

The food was outstanding and exceeded all expectations. Every dish was packed with authentic flavour, beautifully cooked, Korean style fried chicken. You could really tell the attention to detail and pride that goes into their menu.

It was such a brilliant experience overall. The combination of incredible food and exceptional service made our visit truly memorable. We would highly recommend Thankyou Chicken to anyone looking for a fantastic Korean meal with genuine...
