Donkey and I were on a mission to conquer the Jeju Fantasy Bike Path, cycling around the island to get our certification while soaking in the beautiful scenery. As we were going counterclockwise, we decided to end our cycling adventure with a few days of relaxation at the I-Jin Hotel in Jeju City.
We chose the I-Jin Hotel based on its excellent Google ratings and its reasonable pricing. Plus, it’s conveniently located near a lot of attractions, including the Dongmun Traditional Market, Shilla Duty Free, the Jeju Sports Complex, and Nuwemaru Street, Jeju’s vibrant pedestrian shopping street. It was fantastic for exploring the city and enjoying some shopping and local experiences.
We found the hotel to be comfortable and clean. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. The rooms were neat and tidy with all the necessary amenities, and we appreciated that we were able to store our Brompton bikes inside our room while still having ample space. We were initially surprised when the receptionist was hesitant about allowing us to bring our Brompton bikes into the room, but after demonstrating how compactly they folded, he was happy to accommodate our request.
The hotel's location is also fantastic. There’s a bakery shop and a cafe just below the hotel where we could grab a quick beer or a coffee. We especially enjoyed the cafe, which had a relaxed and inviting atmosphere.
The I-Jin Hotel also has its own indoor car park, which was a bonus after we rented our car the next day.
One thing to note is that the hotel doesn't have laundry facilities. If you need to do laundry, the receptionist recommends a laundry shop just 3 minutes away from the hotel.
Overall, the I-Jin Hotel is a great choice for travellers looking for a comfortable and affordable stay in Jeju City. It’s a good base for exploring the city and its surrounding...

Read moreTLDR: Moldy rooms, wet blankets, on a top of a hill
Our room had the biggest ball of dust looking mold I have ever seen in my life. The room was very wet and humid and had a bit of a weird smell, but we just thought thats how it was. First night I entered the bed and was greeted with the most unpleasant feeling of moise sheets and blankets. After night two, we decided to look around to see why it smelled so bad and look what we find. Mold in every corner.
We told the staff about it and they moved us to another room. I had a bad feeling about it because we only moved by a floor. My feelings were affirmed when we entered the room. Guess what we found in the new room that the staff moved us to? Giant ball of mold.
The hotel is located on top of a hill. You need to walk about 8-10 minutes of the windiest hill to get to the bus station to ride 365 (one of the most predominant busses. It is the bus that connects the hotel to the airport). If you plan on doing any bus travel, you will get some tiring leg exercises after a long day of hiking or exploring.
Another thing that was annoying was that the wifi would only turn on couple minutes after you put the card in the card holder because the wifi is bound to the room and the router turns off everytime the...
