âHotel without portable heater is a serious matter â During our stay, we requested a portable heater for our room but were told the hotel didnât have any available. Instead, they offered extra blankets. We even turned off the air conditioning, assuming it would be fine, but to our surprise, the air conditioning automatically turned back on and was set to 24°C. When we asked the hotel how to turn it off completely, they sent a staff member to explain that the air conditioning was off and what we were feeling was just air passing throughâwhich clearly wasnât true. The air conditioning stayed on the entire night, and we ended up shivering while trying to sleep. Even in the morning, it was so cold that getting out of bed to shower was a challenge.
He even suggested that if we were cold, we should just open the window, saying it was 28°C outside. How can we sleep with the window open and dirty air flowing in? The room had an air purifier, but it was so noisy that we had to turn it off. A simple closed room would have been sufficientâwe didnât need an air purifier or open windows for airflow.
While I could accept that the hotel didnât provide a toothbrush (which we were informed about before check-in), or that there were no glass cups, teaspoons to stir the coffee, or even sugar and creamer, but not having a portable heater was unacceptable. This is a 4-star hotel under the Lotte brand, in a country with four seasons. How can they expect guests from different countries, with varying tolerances to cold, to stay comfortably when the air conditioning is centrally controlled and automatically set to a specific temperature? On top of that, the room itself needed some attention. There were visible scratches and dirt marks on the walls when we walked in, suggesting that it could use some maintenance and touch-ups. We come from Malaysia đ˛đž, where it's summer all year round with temperatures around 30°C, so we're quite sensitive to cold. It made the experience of dealing with the room's cold temperature even more uncomfortable. We are seriously asking to bring this matter up to higher management to discuss over providing external portable heater, toothbrush, tea spoon, sugar, creamer for coffee and glass cup in toilet for mouth wash. They also have their L7 branches in Gangnam, Myeongdong, and Haeundae Beach in Busan. I would consider staying with them again if they provided a more comfortable stay. Fortunately, I only stayed my last night with L7 Gangnam during my trip. In comparison, Stanford Hotel Myeongdong, which is a 3-star hotel, provided us with a heater when we complained about the cold. Ramada by Encore Wyndham Busan Haeundae was also comfortable, and their air conditioning could actually be switched off, making the stay much more pleasant. Prior to check-in, we asked if it was possible to check in early, as we were tired from traveling from Busan. The initial response was that early check-in would require an additional fee, which wasnât the most pleasant answer, especially considering it was only 12:30 pm. After looking into the system, the receptionist then said we could check in at 1 pm. I would recommend improving customer service by first checking the system before mentioning fees. It would have been much more pleasant if the response had been, "Let me check," followed by offering the 1 pm check-in, without bringing up the extra charge unnecessarily. This approach would create a more welcoming experience. I hope L7...
Read moreHighly recommend this hotel!!! Everything about this hotel was top notch and excellent. The service was professional and courteous, the room service was on time and spotless each day. We stayed for 7nights, they replenished 2 water of bottles each day, and even provided a welcome snack in the fridge when we checked in. Room service did a great job of changjng our towels each day and even replenish all the supplies in the batbroom, coffee, cups, and all the essentials. The room was spacious and had a great view of the garden. The walls and doors are very thick so it is quiet and canât hear any noice day or night while in the room. I saw reviews about difficulty controlling the room temperature, we had no problem at all and we could set whatever temperature we desired without problem. There are also reviews about long elevator waits which doesnât make sense as there is an elevator guy that will press the elevator for you as you enter and max wait was like 3 mins for the 8 days that we were there, especially in Asia and in a busy building, that is really good timing already. There is also a good sized laundry room that has washer and dryer. It was 5000w for each wash and dry and it did a great job as it holds a big load.
The location of the hotel is prime. The bus stop is literally outside the hotel entrance. The airport K-limousine bus even stops in front of the hotel on the Gangnam- COEX 6703 line. So convenient to get to and from the airport with only 11$ usd one way for 1.5-2hrs.
The subway is also like 3 mins outside the hotel entrance which was perfect to get to anywhere in Seoul on the green line.
Walking across the street had tons and tons of restaurants and behind the hotel had so many coffee shops, convenience stores and olive young. Everything right at the hotel location.
This is a highly recommended hotel, comfortable, clean, good priced and everything was perfect. I will...
Read moreNot really a luxury hotel. Some 3 star hotels were the same or even better... so this came in as a surprise. Expected more from a hotel in Gangnam. Check in was a mess since they have a self check in on computers, probably would have been ok if it was just one person, and if you are not Korean, not very user friendly, took us forever to complete. Since the reservations were made by one person for few rooms we had to re-enter all info... never took me so long to check in, and the ladies at the front desk wouldn't check us in. Only after like 20 min of trying to get everything in did one lady finally say that the information was not necessary and helped us out with the process. Not the greatest service. The rooms with city view, at least the ones with 2 beds, had an office building view... wouldn't call that a view, since it obstructed everything else, so the extra money paid for the view was wasted. Looking at a concrete wall with windows does not consider to be a city view in my opinion. We had double beds in each bedroom, but only one towel... and that is a first for me too. They brought it up fairly quick after calling in, but there shouldn't have been the need to do so in the first place. Other than that, the hotel was clean, beds were comfortable and breakfast had a really good selection of items. Their foot spa was amazing, if you get a chance use it. They have a convenience store with a mediocre selection of items in the basement. It's close to the Metra station, stores and other attractions so that was nice as well. Check out was simple this time. Wouldn't really stay here again unless I got the rooms at a discount. Honestly the foot spa kind of made up for a lot of things, but still don't not make it a...
