Our 23rd stop on our journey around the world was in Seoul. We arrived late at night at the airport. A taxi dropped us off in, what we initially perceived to be, a dark ally, somewhere in Seoul. ||||We were directed into an old building and requested to take the elevator to the seventh floor. On our way up, my daughter looked at me and asked if I knew what I was doing when I booked for four nights at the Mmmio House. ||||It was our first time in Korea, so we did not know what to expect. We also did not know at that time that we would be staying at probably the best Design Guesthouse in Seoul.||||When arrived on the seventh floor, the doors opened and all of us immediately felt as if we were walking into a warm, safe, and nicely designed ho(s)tel. ||It was such a nice experience, the next day we extended our stay by another 5 days.||||Mmmio house is owned by two women who have studied design and fashion in Milan, Italy and decided to open a guesthouse in Seoul. Mmmio house clearly has the touch of people who know what they are doing. ||||A shared living room, or relax room, is surrounded by 10 rooms, each with shower, toilet and a/c. All rooms have a code lock. The living area and rooms are all modern and clean and show the touch of the owners. The staff is very friendly and they take time to tell about Seoul and how to get to different locations.||||Laundry is free !! (compared to China, where we were charged USD 6 for one t-shirt, this was a nice surprise).||||Breakfast is until 11.00am. Bread, Nutella, Jam and Skippy peanut butter is provided free of charge. A small amount is charged for cheese, eggs or noodles. Breakfast is great, because this self-service activity takes place in the shared kitchen. We met new people every day, mainly from Asian countries.||||My kids stayed up late every day and preferred to stay in the living/relax area on one of the comfy couches, rather then in their room.||||The owners, Candace and Esther, have made our stay at Mmmio house the most pleasant experience in Korea. Candace was in the guesthouse almost every day and it was a delight to talk to her. The kids loved her (and so did my wife and I).||||Mmmio house is also nice because of its location. It is located in Jong-no, a really Korean neighborhood. Real Korean markets, real Korean food and real Korean people. The dark alley we saw the first night, turned out to be a lively small street with many small shops, close to a local market. The subway is less than a minute walking from the Mmmio house and gets you everywhere you want to go in Seoul. Main attractions, like Bukchon, the Temple and the 24 hour shopping malls are within walking distance. Behind the Mmmio house is a small river. If you like jogging, just follow the river and you’ll enjoy the views.||||Seoul is a very safe big city. ||||If you are planning to go to Seoul, try to get a reservation at Mmmio House. You will not regret it. If they are fully booked, which may happen, I was informed that Candace and Esther also opened a new...

Read moreMmmio house location was very good, though located in an alley selling aports equipments/clothing but is was easy to spot due to Gwangjang market. Just 2~3 mins walk to jongno 5-ga mrt stn exit 6. Breakfast was simply bread, coffee tea etc. or u can pay for eggs/ramen. alternatively u can oso cook or go out to eat. ||The person-in-charge was friendly as we went in a family of 4 adults + 1 toddler kid, slightly make abit of noise but she was helpful to help look after/play with the kid.|Room & toilet was small & we bring mny luggages. There a big window view of the stream inside room. Will suggest that can have hooks behind the toilet door as can hang clothes/towel for changing.||stay in the main of mmmio dongdaemun, there another abt 10mins distance for the loft house style. didn't stay that because of the stairs, but suppose room is bigger.||A good service of theirs which we favor is the food delivery asst. menus to choose frm. If we lazy or due to cold weather to go out to eat. Oso provide laundry service. A cozy living room area for interaction with other travellers, watching tv programs outside room, though inside room oso have, reading various travel books was a plus point too. They can oso help to arrange transport services to airport/book day tour trips/ski trips.||will like to try their new mmmio @myeongdong or their loft @dongdaemum nxt time when visiting...
