Stayed here 3 nights over Chuseok holiday. If you're coming by subway, Dongdaemun station exit 7 is nearest but it has lots of stairs and no escalator or lift. Exit 12 is best if you have big luggage as there's a lift and it's a smooth straight walk to the hotel.
The hotel reception area is large and brightly lit. There's a seating area (no food allowed) and free tea/coffee. There's lockers and coin laundry which I used during my stay and worked well.
Check in was smooth. I managed to get help from reception about whether a large chain store was open during the holiday and the staff helped me check and printed me a map as well.
My room 601 was right at the end, very quiet and clean. The aircon system of this hotel is unique in that it switches on and off by itself when the desired temperature is reached. There's a water dispenser and bin on each floor. Everything worked well in my room, daily cleaning was done with 2 bottles of water.
My stay included breakfast- it was simple but filling. Reception assisted me on another day with checking if a heritage site was open- they called them to check and I was impressed and grateful for the help rendered.
However, things weren't so smooth after checkout. Checkout itself was quick and fuss free but the purported airport bus 6001 not only came late but drove right past me when I flagged it down. Confused, I called reception from the entrance intercom and a female staff came down. She politely told me the airport bus was none of their business, that I should call the bus company myself and that she needed to go. Well, I don't have a call plan and I can't speak Korean so that wasn't helpful. I don't understand why if the reception could help me check/ call tourist sites during my stay, that they couldn't do the same for me esp when I needed to catch my flight. There was only 1 Reception staff at 12 noon when I checked out, which didn't make sense as there were alot of guests checking out then and a very large gp arriving. At other times when human traffic was low, I saw 2 Reception staff.
I would have given this hotel rave reviews if not for their poor service after checkout. While I understand the airport bus is not affiliated to the hotel, they could have helped me check or call the bus company just like they did with the tourist sites earlier. If anything, the airport bus issue was more important to me as a traveller than the store or tourist site.
Btw, the airport bus schedule is just for show. I waited ard 30 min and only managed to board the 3rd bus that came because the 1st bus drove right past me; the 2nd one only dropped off passengers and didn't allow us to board. All 3 buses came late and outside the...
Read moreStayed here last December with my brother. No complaints. The beds were comfortable, sheets were changed everyday. You get two bottles of water every day, but you can also refill them, there's a water dispenser (with ice) on each floor. The location was good, really close to subway line 2, 4 and 5 and also just a 20 minutes walk from Myeongdong. Another plus is that there is a CU convenience store directly next to it. The view from the room was also quite nice. Shampoo, conditioner and bodywash aswell as toothbrushes (and toothpaste), cotton pads, moisturizer, hair caps (for showering if you don't want to wet your hair) and pads were provided. I especially liked the built in bidet with the toilet that we sadly lack almost anywhere in europe :D The shower was also quite spacious and the bathroom overall looked really nice and clean but not too sterile, the only complaint I can think of regarding the bathroom is that the shower didn't have a lot of water pressure. But to be fair I think that of most showers I've used so far as my shower at home has really high water pressure, so it might just be me. Overall a very nice and clean hotel with pretty good value and well connected to the rest of the city due to the near subway station (Dongdaemun history&culture park and Euljiro 4), I would definitely...
Read moreStrongly recommend you to AVOID staying in this hotel. NOISY AND NO VENTILATION!|This is my first time travelling to Korea, but it is the WORST hotel experience i have ever had.|I have read a lot of comments and decided to stay in this hotel for 4 nights for 2 rooms. But it makes me feel so DISAPPOINTED!|I realised air conditioner and ventilation fan were not working after entering the room for 10 mins today. Called front desk asking for the reason and the staff told me it is winter so only heater is available. But I said there was no ventilation at all and he informed me to open the window and send me an eletric fan. Ok fine! The housekeeping sent me the fan and I tried to open the window too. It is almost 0 degree celcius outside so the window couldnt be opened wide. If i opened it a little bit, outside is so noisy cause by cars and some kind of low frequency noise from the building my room is exactly facing to. Ok then I tried to use their electric fan, the fan is very noisy too! I'm not a night sleeper and i slept only 3 hours last night before I came to Korea, but NO VENTILATION and NOISES make me insomnia now. Still have to stay here for 3...
