This is a very pleasant hotel. We stayed 5 days, probably more than most would stay in Avila. We were attracted by the pool area because we wanted to really chill for a few days, whereas I think most people probably would stay to check out Avila (only a small town) for a day or two.||The hotel delivers on being a really unique, beautifully kept old house. It feels very homely and our room was beautiful and in great condition.||Staff were great, helpful and courteous - they do a lovely job.||Parking on other side of the tiny street on which the hotel is situated; note it is tight to get into the entrance to the parking especially if you have a big car.||The pool area is indeed beautiful and very quiet. Service of drinks and food available poolside, so really ticked the boxes of chilling out. One thing we did note is that there are areas where the floor seems to be made of old wooden railway sleepers. This creates a nice aesthetic effect, but ultimately some are quite old now and there are some huge splinters to the point it is now an HSE issue which I would be extremely concerned about were I a shareholder in the hotel - needs fixing before someone really hurts themselves!||Note also that the main garden is beautifully turfed (real grass) but the pool area grass is Astro-turf. This was a bit of a turn-off on first sight but actually was no issue and has advantages (no dirty feet etc)||Note the pool is not big enough to do full-lengths. You can swim around and round if you want a workout, but not one for a hardcore workout.||Breakfast we felt was a bit average compared to to tone struck by the hotel. Beautifully presented but ultimately not great quality (e.g. no fresh bread; all kind of toasted/from a bag we thought; no yoghurt/cereal/French toast/waffles/eggs Benedict - all of which we found at similar hotels in the region) and not so much variety. So we would not say a 5* breakfast.||Finally we struggled with the very thin doors of our room and the very noisy unlocking / locking mechanism of the neighbouring doors. This meant that as soon as folks in the rooms next door got up, we were awoken - then again when they came back from breakfast! This was a real pity because we had come to chill but could not sleep in for most days we were there.||All in all, a firm “Recommended” but a couple points just to...

A true Paradise inside the old town of Avila with very good service.

This is a fabulous small boutique style hotel situated just inside the famous walls of Avila. The interior is stunning, and the room was beautifully presented.

It is a quiet and nice place to relax, having a glass of wine outside or inside the building after you have done a tour of Avila. We stayed two nights in the hotel.

Our lovely Junior suite (no 206) was very well appointed and spacious, equipped with everything you could want. A huge (2x2m) comfy bed and an exceptional huge bathroom with bathtub and walk in shower (see my attached photos). The room had a very efficient air-conditioning which is very important during the summer in Spain! We loved it and would have stayed for much longer if we could!

The pool area is the True Paradise area at this hotel (see my photos and you will agree!) Towels are provided FOC, plenty of sun beds and shaded areas. The little bar by the pool was run by a really charming and attentive staff girl.

We really liked the breakfast with a set menu (different type of ham, fruit, cheese etc.), eggs as you want them and a small buffet – but a little bit too expensive (25 EUR per person).

The dinner was also great – and what a beautiful and romantic area! – you must see my attached phots again to understand!

I will recommend you to reserve a parking space at the hotel (20 EUR per night) because this hotel is inside the town wall with no public parking area.

As a person who travels a lot, I can highly recommend this hotel if you want to have a quiet and discreet stay in Avila.

I stayed here because I booked very late for a business trip and my options were limited. I got a deal on the room rate and thought I'd give it a shot as it seemed to be well located. It is!! It's just round the corner from the Convent of Saint Theresa and right in the heart of Old Town, just a short walk from the centre square and many historical attractions. It's conveniently located near stop 144 of line 1 for the local bus and the bus is just 1 Euro however far you want to go in the city. The hotel itself is lovely and has some history... it was the prime minister's property but he lost his fortune and had to sell up. It has a secret door into the hotel office. It has a pool outside which is just big enough to swim in (only a few strokes but relaxing nonetheless) and has a private garden to enjoy the sun. There are tall trees at one end and down one side and the city wall lines the garden so the sun doesn't stay all day... but the pool closes at 8pm anyway so people would head inside. I dined in the restaurant 2 nights and the food was fantastic. Proper high cuisine and delicious wines on offer. Service from all staff was impeccable and they couldn't do enough to help me. The place was immaculate and full of interesting furniture and ornaments... like a table football (Fußball) table which must have been 100 years old. They do have a small gated car park opposite which I didnt use as I was travelling for business and took taxis but it's there if needed. The streets are tiny and cobbled though so confidence in one's driving ability would be required.
