A Truly Enchanting Stay in the Heart of Barcelona's Gothic Quarter! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently had the pleasure of staying at the H10 Montcada Hotel during my visit to Barcelona, and I can't stop raving about it! 📍 Location: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ You couldn't ask for a better location if you want to immerse yourself in the charm of Barcelona's Gothic Quarter. The hotel is nestled amidst narrow cobblestone streets, just a stone's throw away from iconic landmarks like the Barcelona Cathedral and the bustling La Rambla. It's a dream for explorers and culture enthusiasts! 🏨 Accommodations: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The rooms at H10 Montcada are an absolute delight. Impeccably clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. My room had a fantastic view of the Gothic Quarter, which made my mornings truly magical. 🍽️ Dining: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The hotel's restaurant, the "Rooftop Terrace Lounge," is a hidden gem. I enjoyed delicious Mediterranean cuisine with a rooftop view of the city. The breakfast spread was a great way to start my day, with plenty of options to suit all tastes. 🛎️ Service: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The staff at H10 Montcada went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. They were always ready to assist with a smile and had excellent recommendations for exploring the city. Estoyon and John were excellent staff on the rooftop as well as everyone at the front desk. 🌟 Special Mention: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The rooftop terrace is a highlight! It offers panoramic views of the city, including the Gothic Quarter and the sea. It's the perfect spot to relax and watch the sunset. 💖 Overall Experience: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My stay at H10 Montcada was nothing short of magical. It's the ideal place to soak in the rich history and vibrant culture of Barcelona while enjoying top-notch comfort and service. If you're planning a trip to Barcelona and want an unforgettable experience in the Gothic Quarter, I highly recommend H10 Montcada. It's a hidden gem that I can't wait to return to! #H10Montcada #BarcelonaGothicQuarter #TravelGoals #HospitalityExcellence #UnforgettableStay

My husband and I had a 2-night stay that was the nicest 3-star stay we've had in a long time. The rooms came with nice bathrobes and slippers, which is rare for a 3-star hotel, our Classic (Double) room had a queen bed which we always prefer over two twins put together which is common in Europe. The bed and pillows were comfortable and even though we were on a popular pedestrian street it was not too noisy and we slept well. The bathroom was nice and came with nice toiletries which was another great touch. The lobby is a charming old world library style with warm decor, plush leather couches, and a nice bar. The best feature though has to be their rooftop terrace bar. It has a jacuzzi on one side from which you can see a view of the sea in one direction and the Sagrada Familia in the other. On the bar side of the rooftop you can see the spires of the nearby Cathedral of Barcelona. We were there at sunset and it was gorgeous and wonderful for taking pictures. The staff in the lobby and at the rooftop bar were very kind and professional. The location is amazing, being right in the center of the Gothic Quarter and just steps from the roman wall and the Cathedral. It is located on a main, busy street for vehicles which was under pretty major construction when we stayed but it did not negatively effect our experience. We had family staying at the 5-star Grand Central Hotel just two doors down from us and it was not nearly as nice as ours - the lobby was cold and unwelcoming and the rooftop did not have as nice of views at all. Our family, another couple, said that they had the two twins pushed together which was quite uncomfortable. Amazing the difference in the two hotels and experiences despite their star ratings. Overall, the hotel H10 Montcada is wonderful, great value for the price, and we would definitely stay again. We highly recommend it.

Wow, we just got back from a week staying at the H10 Montcada and my advice is that you should consider yourself lucky if you're looking at options and this hotel is available! First of all, the service and hospitality can't be beat. Our group ranged from ages 6 to 70 and everyone felt comfortable and welcome. The front desk staff is so helpful and the breakfast and bar staff are super accommodating. The hotel location couldn't be better. This hotel sits on the street that divides the Gothic quarter and El born. So you're literally right between the best of both worlds when it comes to shopping and food. You're directly across the street from a metro stop (and just 2 stops away from attractions like Casa Battlo), you're a 3 min walk from Moco and Picasso museum, you're 10 min walk from La Boqueria...I could go on. This is the place to be, especially if you're a first time tourist. Among our group we booked 3 rooms - a triple, double, and single. All were so very clean and honestly for a hotel in the historic section of an old European city, I consider the rooms to be spacious and really well laid out. I know most Americans will see these rooms and think they're small, but if you're a frequent traveler to old world cities, you know that the hotel rooms in the historic sections are not big in general. This hotel had great rooms and gorgeous bathrooms given the constraints you find in these parts of town. The rooftop bar is such a perk. We hung out there often and took great photos with the 360 backdrop of the city. I walked by a few of the other H10 hotels that are nearby and I very much preferred the location of ours.

An average hotel experience — not amazing, not poor, just in-between.

Pros:

Brilliant location, and I do believe the convenience justifies a slightly higher price.

Buffet breakfast, although lovely and well-cooked, was nice and a positive — however, it’s a shame it wasn’t menu-based like the other two H10s I’ve stayed at in the past. However still a great range.

Bed was comfortable, and a safe was provided.

Cons:

Essentials Room (smallest room) had very poor soundproofing. I could clearly hear guests in 406-A, especially at night and early mornings when their child was awake. This made sleeping awful, and I even considered leaving early until they checked out.

Bathroom developed a drainage issue toward the end of the stay, with the sink water taking a long time to go down — this wasn’t worth reporting as it happened right at the end.

Credit to management for partly refunding me quickly for breakfast on one day I was unwell, which I appreciated. Would've been more ideal if they refunded both of us, as neither of us went, but not bothered to debate this. However, on my last morning, the manager hosting breakfast (who was usually lovely) attempted to debate with us about which days I had attended breakfast — while I was eating. This felt unprofessional, especially as the information would have been easily available on their system or cameras.

Additionally, when I first spoke to a particular front desk staff member about being unwell, I found her quite unapproachable and hard to communicate with, which discouraged me from following up later regarding my potential refund. She wore square glasses and her name began with “C,” but I won’t name her here for privacy reasons.

I booked this hotel because I absolutely loved H10 Madison and their staff, but this was definitely an average stay. Even with my discounts applied, the price was too high for what I received. I would rate it no more than 3 stars, but have deducted 1 star due to the unprofessional conduct of the breakfast manager and the difficult interaction with the particular front desk staff. It’s sad to deduct that star, as I do credit management for being understanding with my refund, but this needs to be noted so staff members don’t let down the brand going forward. Sadly, compared to H10 Madison, this did not live up to expectations and I...

The most economical of the H10 hotels in Barcelona. They bill themselves as luxury properties. There are luxury touches. Pro's: In a walkable location with easy access to restaurants, cabs, tourists spots, and right near a metro station. Fairly insulated from street noise on upper floors, rooftop bar until sunset, the breakfast is pricey but really nice if you want a full meal before heading out for the day! The room was well maintained and had daily service. Con's: I hoped and asked for an early check-in, I got in 30 minutes late, I know they can't. always accommodate early, but on time is nice. The bathroom could have been a little cleaner. The doors slam incredibly loudly so they will wake you up if you go to bed before midnight. No hot water one day (but they sent a nice desert plate later to say sorry). The construction in front of the hotel is brutal right now, it is hard to access the front door.

There are many H10 hotels in Barcelona, most have fancier lobbies and a few more amenities. This one has the rooftop bar that has a light dinner menu, it moves to the lobby after sunset. It is more than enough for me. The rooms are small if that is an issue for you. Location is great. The front desk staff was polite, but I could have wished for a little more as a tourist. Where to go to eat or get a coffee? A wave of the hand in a general direction "There are many places you will like that way..." Need a cab? "I could call one but you will walk out get one on your own quicker" Sometimes true but not during rush hour and construction can make it hard. Room not ready on time? Maybe apologize and offer free breakfast instead of saying they want to make sure it is ready and clean before they send me up. I mean, they knew how full they were going to be, they were sending other people up and someone forgot to wipe down a few things in the bathroom so they were just late. Would I send someone here, sure. Would a cleaner bathroom and saying they were sorry my room wasn't ready and offering a free breakfast instead brushing me off make me rave about the place instead of being mildly annoyed...
