Fa Patxoca is a local tapas place that could wrap up that full Barcelona experience. I went to the place twice during my first week in Barcelona to try their different tapas and it didn’t disappoint.

Ambiance: I like the fusion of modern and vintage vibe inside, but what I appreciate the most is the cleanliness, and that includes their toilet. It’s tiny but it’s clean. You will be greeted by the staff, who by the way, can all speak English so communication won’t be very difficult.

Food: The portions were big enough to share. The flavor was outstanding. My top favorites are the following: pan con tomate: the most basic dish but they served the bread warm and crisps enough with the decent amount of olive oil and the fresh tomato on it. It’s perfect to eat on its own or with their jamon iberico. Gambas al ajillo: their serving here is big as compared to some of the other tapas place I’ve been to. The shrimps were perfectly cooked. The rich flavor and aroma of the garlic is not overpowering the flavor of the shrimp as you can still taste the juicy flavor of it. This is also a good pair with their pan con tomate. Tortilla: I wasn’t expecting much from this dish but when I tasted it, it was flavorful and moist inside. It’s simple but filling and comforting. Perfect to have after walking around the city the whole day. Nachos: Their nachos aren’t salty, the guacamole is fresh and flavorful. It’s not overpowering the flavor of their tortilla chip. They prepared it simple and yet very flavorful. Tataki de atun: next to nachos, this came as a surprise to me. I wasn’t expecting it to be ‘that’ flavorful. But when I had my first bite, It was packed with flavor. The tuna was fresh and it blends well with the citrusy flavor of the other ingredients they put in the dish. It’s worth the try. I could go on and on mentioning about the tapas I have tried as they were all good but I would want to give emphasis on the abovementioned dishes. It’s simple but it’s worth every bite. This place is worth the visit and every cent. It is simple yet very cozy, warm and clean. The food is simple, yet it’s packed with flavor in every bite. The quality is beyond my expectation and the serving was pretty generous. Don't forget to try their drinks, too. My top favorites are their clara and aperol spritz. It goes well with...
