We stayed for 6 nights and we were a group with 10 rooms. So we experienced the stay total differently one from the other:

The location is great if you want to feel the vibe and the night life of Barcelona, but if you want to relax it will be a terible experience.

The noise from The Rambla can be easily heard up to the 5th floor, because the windows are clasic and they provide little protection agains noise. So in the lower levels you feel like you sleep in the street...and yes some times you can feel vibrations from the metro.

The arhitecture of the hotel is very strange and many rooms do not have any kind of sunlight because they do not have any windows. I am not joking: NO windows of any kind. The furniture is very old and it was a cheap furniture from the beginning so the rooms have a moldy aspect and many defects including the front doors so be very carefull because you might leave the door open by mistake. Also when we stayed there it was a bad smell in the hotel, especially in the lower levels. We did not had any problem with the cleanness of the room, but some of our friends were not so lucky, so i think it is a problem with some of the cleaning staff: some are doing their jobs some dont and this is the biggest problem that they fix very fast.

They have some other small problems but they are relative from person to person, like: they are under staffed so the services are very slow, the food at breakfast is ok, but very limited in options, oooh and the elevator is terrible, like it has a mind of it's own: it stops at every floor regardless if the people there want to get down or up, i have not met this problem in a very long time so it was strage for me, but we were never in a hurry so we had some fun visiting and revisiting people on different levels on our way down from 7th floor.

So as a conclusion: if you are young and dont bother much with the quality of the room and want to party, it is ok due to it's location wich is great, but if you want a relaxing stay with the family you better not go there because it will be a...

Unfortunately, my stay at this hotel was disappointing. While the location was convenient, several issues made the experience far from enjoyable.|The check-in process set a frustrating tone for the entire stay. When we arrived, the front desk seemed completely unprepared—there was a long line and only one staff member working. We were given a slip of paper and told to fill in our name and phone number and when I returned it to the front desk I was told to keep it until my name was called. When asked how they would know who we were if they didn’t have the piece of paper we were told “I am me, you are you.” After waiting nearly an hour, the front desk clerk came to the lobby and had to ask who was next to check-in. The entire process was extremely unorganized and frustrating. |We were then given a key to the luggage room to store our bags until our room was ready. The room was the size of a small closet and there was barely any room for our bags due to the number of other bags being stored in the room.|A few hours later we were about to check in and the room felt like a glorified hostel. It wasn’t as clean as I would have expected—there were ants and cobwebs in the bathroom and a printed piece of paper on the bed asking that food be kept out of the room due to bugs. |Unfortunately, things didn’t improve much from there. The noise level outside the hotel was terrible—we were kept up all night as a result of people shouting and partying until 7 AM when we were leaving for the airport. For a hotel stay, that’s a dealbreaker. |The disorganization made the whole process feel chaotic and unprofessional. For the price, I expected a higher standard of hospitality and maintenance. I hope management takes steps to improve the overall guest experience, as this hotel has potential, but it missed the mark...

Very good location. But that’s all I can say good about this hotel. We booked a room for 4 people. We received a room with 5 beds, a window to the back yard (horrible view, very dirty), everything basic and not very clean. Even if 5 people were supposed to stay in that room, there were only one charging socket close to one bed, another one for the fridge and another one for the TV. So it was impossible for us to charge our phones in the same time, taking in consideration that we were in the room only for a small period of time.

The worst thing was that in the room it was very cold!!! We let the receptionist know about this problem and he sent someone to check. After the person checked and realised that the problem can not be solved (the AC was not working) they tried to make us believe that the problem will be solved next morning. I mean, we were supposed to sleep in a cold room without any compensations. We went at the reception and we asked for a different room, even one for 2 people, not 4, but all we wanted was a room in which we were not freezing… They said it is not possible to change the room because the hotel was fully booked. The receptionist was very rude, he did not find any solution for us. So we slept in a cold room. For 3 nights. It would have been better to sleep outside.

The only nice person from reception was Marco, who was very kind and he came to our room to bring us more blankets(yes, we had to use 3 blankets or more and it was still cold).

Also Marco brought us some food in the room because we were leaving early in the morning and the restaurant was not open.

The breakfast was basic, nothing special or delicious.

The only good thing was the location, as we were close to everything.

I WOULD NOT recommend this hotel to anyone and I will not come...

We stayed in Ramblas Hotel from July 9 to July 13, and had good stay there until last day. We had the hotel to arrange taxi for us to get to Barcelona airport. As a matter of fact, there are a lot of taxis available just outside the hotel, we definitely could just step outside and took a taxi right away. But we thought it could be better as it would be worry-free if the hotel arrange a taxi for us. But we were totally wrong. The hotel didn't tell us there was any extra charge on it and arranged a disqualified taxi driver for us. He charged me too much for the trip from Ramblas hotel to Barcelona airport. It should be around euro$25 but he charged me $40 and refused to give us the receipt. When I questioned him, he insisted the extra charge was for the hotel and it was the fault of the hotel not telling us the truth instead of himself. He even threatened us we couldn't leave until we paid that money. We were in hurry to catch up our flight and I had two accompanying kids, so I had no choice to pay him without the receipt at that time. We had a good stay at the hotel, but the above taxi experience almost ruined our pleasure of this trip. His behavior is not acceptable. We are very disappointed at this taxi service the hotel arranged. The driver is even not qualified for providing taxi service. It would be really appreciated if the hotel could help me complain that taxi driver and prevent it from happening again to any other tourists. It is not only for good reputation of Ramblas Hotel but Barcelona. Overall, a good experience and I would return. This hotel is basic and no frills, but clean, safe, spacious and in the best location imaginable. If you know what you’re booking, you won’t be disappointed. The room was cleaned daily and to a very high standard. The breakfast was breads, cheeses and ham, with cereal option, fruits and yoghurts. Still no frills, but given the price couldn’t be faulted! Again, the buffet area and breakfast room all seemed very clean to the standard I’d expect. The negatives would be that given the nature of the old building sound travels, I could hear the room next door word for word, and people passing in the corridor could be heard as if they were in the room. Given the location of this hotel, we spent our time out exploring and only used the room to sleep and change, so this was manageable for the small amount of time we spent in the space, but worth keeping in mind. Checking in was difficult. The staff seemed overwhelmed and snappy, the service was inefficient and slow, the process took us around 45 minutes despite being 2nd in the queue and having a printed booking confirmation ready to hand, be ready for this as it seems everyone had the same experience. This hotel isn’t perfect, but is priced well, in a perfect location, with clean and safe facilities. If you’re happy with a no frills stay to experience a wonderful city, I’d recommend! Just keep an hour in your schedule to check in.

I have seen lots of mixed reviews on the hotel Ramblas, a majority even leaning towards negative. Let me let you in on a hack for this hotel. Granted, this is a budget hotel, it's pricing for us for the week was close to 1000 CAD less than some comparable competitors, and that sort of price disparity usually comes at a cost. Do yourself a favour and book a TERRACE room here. The terrace rooms do not suffer from the noise pollution, that a lot of complaints mention. We are on the 9th floor in a terrace room, and not only is the room nice, but the view of the Barcelona skyline is the best I have ever had at any hotel in my life. The location is great, we don't actually plan on utilizing the businesses on Le ramblas, but there is no denying how this central location is a great jumping off point for any adventure. The hotel is very close to metro, and the gothic quarter. It's truly great, give this place a chance and you (hopefully) will have the same experience we did.
