Apartamentos Orfeo Azul — Hotel in Benalmádena

DO NOT STAY HERE! Leaving 1star was still too much! We rented an apartment for over £1200 for four days. On arrival the place looked fair but unclean but as a group of five woman we cleaned the place and got on with our time there. Waking on morning one, most of us was covered in tiny bites( to be told be a doctor these were bed bugs)!

Then on day we was leaving the agent Debbie from riviera came to the apartment demanding €300 deposit in cash, we told her we had no problem paying this but would have to be on card as we were out of euros! She started raising her voice and we were all rather shocked by her aggressive manor as we had been there from the Saturday. She then told me best I get myself down stairs and pay this cash or else at this point I thought best I shut the door. About 30mins later we all left apartment to go sort this with her and tried to discuss this situation where outside Debbie was waiting with a man who then told we best make our way to the office( also very aggressive) again we asked her why cash and not our banking either way we paid her this money in cash as only one person had a bank card to actually withdraw money with the promise she will send it back that evening. We cleaned all apartment babes up all rubbish and swept and mopped all the way through not a single cup was left dirty as dish washer and everything was provided and we had no problem with this! What we didn’t do was wash the bedding for the next holiday goers, and this is what she has refused to give us our deposit back for!! She took £160 as there was make up on the sheets! From five woman on a 4 day break absolutely no mention of how unclean the place was when we got there even after apologising to us for the state on the floors and walls! Just that she was keeping our deposit for make up on the sheet and us not taking the bagged up rubbish for cleaners down to the bins (which we knew nothing off) I can assure you if I knew the place never had cleaners and I slept on bedding that the last tenants had the responsibility of washing and changing bedding I’d have never stayed there! Unclean Dirty And clearly had no intention of giving us our deposit back as we left the place cleaner than when we arrived and very annoyed with the the estate agents Do...

There was snot on the bathroom door frame when we arrived and the floor was filthy! we very easygoing people and chose not to complain about it and just enjoy our holiday as we were spending minimal time at the room anyway, the apartment was nice apart from that.

We are a group of women in our 40s who kept the place very clean, we used the mop twice and swept up every day. There was nothing significant that a cleaner would expect to see upon check out.

After our return, much to our surprise Debbie sent us an email with a list of reasons why she was not giving us our deposit back!

“Make up on the sheets ”Unless you’re not planning on washing bedding for the next guests then I would say this is a pretty standard thing to expect to see on white bedding after 4 days. It comes off in the wash! “Rubbish everywhere”It was in-fact in bin bags. We didn’t realise we had to take the rubbish out “Toilet roll in the toilet” we don’t actually believe this to be true, but even if it was, we are not talking about a blocked toilet here, just a matter of pressing the flush button

Then the rest of the email was just compete lies, she said there were stains on the lamp shade, doors and walls. Just completely untrue.

So from Debbie’s email I have concluded the cleaner had to flush a toilet, take bin bags down to the bins and wash the bedding and she has now stolen £160 from us for the privilege. It must be common practice to fleece people of their deposit, something about thieves really doesn’t sit well with me.

Terrible Experience – Avoid Apartamentos Orfeo Azul in 2025 and 2026

We had an awful stay at Apartamentos Orfeo Azul and had to leave early due to extremely loud renovation noise that made the apartment unlivable. At no point before or during booking were we informed about ongoing noise of construction with a jack hammer at outlr apartment balcony. The noise was so disruptive we couldn’t even hear each other speak inside the apartment.

To make matters worse, we woke up one morning to find male construction workers standing on our balcony at 8AM—completely invading our privacy. We had just opened the curtains when we saw them right there. Absolutely unacceptable.

When we complained, the only “solution” (by Debbie )offered was to move to another floor—but only if we paid a significant additional fee. They were difficult and unhelpful when we tried to resolve the issue.

We ended up leaving and paying out of pocket for a new hotel. This was a massive inconvenience and expense that could have been avoided if they had been upfront.

Avoid this place at all costs in 2025 and 2026. Based on our experience, this accommodation is misleading and operates with very little regard for guest comfort or...
