Gloria Bendita — Restaurant in Benalmádena

I've been a regular visitor to this area for many years and I always use the Chiringuitos(Beach Restaurant) between Benalmadena and Carihuela and I've never had a bad experience. Until now. Yes the restaurant was busy but not crammed and we got a table for 2 no problem. That is probably the only positive thing I can say about this place. The food we had was standard fare for these type of places, Sardines(they were small and dried up),Special Salad was fine but when you have to ask twice for oil and vinegar and eventually end up getting it yourself takes the good out of it and dish whose name I can't remember but was like prawns cracker was actually the best of our meal. All in all the food was just about OK but the service was really bad. It wasn't just us either and we noticed other tables around us having similar problems with service. I won't be going back...

As soon as we sat down , the head waiter came up to our table and looked at me in disgust, I didn’t quite know what to say. I said that I would like the drinks menu as there was an awkward silence. After we finished our drinks no one bothered to even look in our direction and after some time one of the waiters just took our glasses without asking if we want another drink or pay, just silence. So I grabbed the drinks menu again and that got the attention of the waiter however, we had to wait for abnormal amount of time again while they served the Spanish people around which I thought was very excluding. Had salad lunch Monday was good service was good. Went back Wednesday service was poor . Felt as if we were a nuisance whilst locals got preference on seating and ordering. Took 20 mins to take order 2 salads dishes Took another 30 mins at least for food to arrive. But only after we had reminded staff that we were still waiting whilst locals in after us had their meals. ...asked for bill and paid only for another bill to arrive. Confusion. Chaotic. Not an enjoyable experience 2nd time. Avoid.
