Hotel Covadonga — Hotel in Cangas de Onís

😊: There was a nice balcony with the room beds were good.. 😢: We came in at 13:00 and we're told that the room would be ready at 14:30, no problem and went for lunch when we came back they were a bit unfriendly and said no,no untill 15:00 no check-in. So we went and came back at 15:00 and with a bit of effort and kindness we were allowed to check in. We understand that rooms can not be ready sooner but it is nice if this communicated in a friendly way not as if we are asking something really awful. The room was a bit small to move around and the doors low so we bumped our heads a few times. Not a cycling friendly hotel. No Aircon and lots...

Had asked for a room overlooking the river with balcony because they looked lovely. They said they couldn’t guarantee it which put me off a little because why not? Anyway arrived early and they said no balcony rooms available only ground floor. The room wasn’t ready do had to come back when we did there was a couple who had just come in with no booking and they were actually given a room with a balcony overlooking river!!!! This really annoyed me! They had no booking so could not understand why we were not offered the room very bad!! Walls paper thin very noisy and hot although the view was good although...

First the positives: good location, good coffee, and most of the employees were very helpful.

Now the negatives: This is a very hot, loud, and dated accommodation where it’s impossible to get a good night’s sleep. I wasn’t expecting a/c, but the rooms don’t even have fans, so you have to leave the windows open in hopes of getting a breeze, but then that means you’re hearing trucks and all sorts of street noise.

The paper thin walls mean you can hear your neighbors coughing, showering, or even more, um, romantic activities. I’m shocked they are charging what they do. It should cost...
