I'm careful when it comes to booking hotels. I read the glowing reviews for this hotel and thought I would be safe. I have been to Corralejo many times and stayed in lots of lovely four star hotels all over the world. This time, I thought I would treat my family of four by paying over two thousand pounds to stay in the Royal Suites for a week. But the hotel looked nothing like the pictures on their website. It's worn and tired, with wonky furniture, broken tiles, and a dirty pool. The worst thing was the ants. They were in the bathroom, on the sides in the kitchen and running up and down the stairs. I expect a few bugs but not a whole colony. It was so bad that our suitcases and clothes were crawling with them after we left. It's not a four star hotel by any means. The bathroom was dim with cracked tiles and a cheap shower curtain, like something out of a bad hostel. I don't want to go in there, let alone wash myself. The beds were basic with a metal headboard. The floors were dirty and unswept, and the stairwell covered with other people's hairs. I hate to leave bad reviews but I feel it only fair to warn others as holidays like these don't come cheap. On a plus side, the location was very good and there were some stunning views. The staff were helpful and friendly and sympathetic to our situation. We had booked for a week but left within 24 hours. I've never walked out of a hotel in my life, but we were able to find a beautiful 4 star hotel nearby which had available rooms. Thankfully, our holiday was saved. I am grateful to the Corralejo Beach hotel for listening to our complaint and coming up with a conclusion we were happy with. Perhaps some of the other rooms are better and we were just unlucky, but this hotel needs a serious upgrade if they are to consider themselves as four stars.

Booked knowing it was ruff around the edges. Turned out bit of a bargin. Nick on reception was really helpful. Room 236 upgrade was pretty good, sofa/sofa bed was very bad! Air con was broke but there was a stand alone unit and fan if you needed it. There was a little kitchen area and fridge. Balcony was pleasant overlooking the pool. Bed/s were 2 singles linked, the one sounded like it had had some serious action as it squeaked everytime the wife moved on it. Bathroom had no negatives. Room was kept pretty clean. There was a gym but didn't even look at it. Breakfast was very good. Evening meal (we'd read lots of reviews on this, but went knowing we'd still be quids in even if we had to eat out) was the bigest fly in the ointment. Quality varied greatly each night and choice wasn't brilliant (small hotel I guess), but somethings were cooked in front of you. Not the best bits of fish or meat. What we did was do the salad course then go out as there is plenty of places wanting to serve you. Yes I would stay here again, as its a good location and the negatives are not as bad as they sound. Noted price for same time next year had gone up £600 with Jet2 . Maid service was off the one day hence why the 1 pic has an unmade bed😵‍💫

In principle, you can stay in this hotel. The last renovation was in 2009 and unfortunately it looks the same here too. The rooms are practically furnished but with broken furniture. When you take a shower, half the bathroom floods because the shower door is not sealed. The side street of the hotel is very loud until late at night and the laundry delivery man comes at 5:30 a.m. and makes a lot of noise, then the septic tank is emptied and the glass waste containers are emptied at 6:00 a.m. The food in the restaurant is tasty. But there is not much variety. You have to pick out clean dishes. Unfortunately, with half board, you have to pay extra for a drink with dinner. The service staff in the restaurant are very polite and friendly. The access to our part of the hotel is exciting and certainly not justifiable under German building law. Conclusion: You can just about sleep in this hotel, but it's better not to be here during the day. It is impossible to get a lounger at the pool because from 7:30 a.m. all loungers are occupied with towels, even though the hotel says this is forbidden. Nobody at the hotel cares. We've had small animals in our hotel for a few days now. I suspect they're ants. They crawled out of the oven.

Just returned from a weeks stay at this hotel with my wife and son. Primary reasons for the initial hotel choice were excellent proximity to the main beach (playa centro), amenities and the fab old town (for lots of great bar and restaurant choices), also the fact that they offer family rooms (rooms with two separate bedrooms)). I think our choice of the family room meant that we were staying in a slightly separate part of the hotel. It’s all in the same square/courtyard hotel layout but it’s in part of the hotel that also contains privately owned apartments, so it has it’s own smaller pool, that we could use as well. We also had full use of all the normal hotel facilities like the main pool area, pool bar, restaurant etc. So the best of both worlds really. The only oddity is this part of the Livvo hotel has its own entrance just down from the main hotel foyer. Anyway the hotel check in and staff were extremely friendly and very helpful throughout our stay. Very happy with the level of service. I picked up a safe key and pool towels for a deposit each. Our family room was spacious and contained everything we needed. A small suite really. I would agree that the corridors and our room could do with a bit of a spruce (my bed (twin main room) was very squeaky so impossible to move without waking my wife up). It also didn’t have a balcony which would have been nice, but generally well appointed and comfortable. We did find that the loungers round the shared hotel/private pool were pretty uncomfortable, the sort with plastic bars just where your body doesn’t appreciate them. The main hotel pool had nicer/more modern mesh loungers. But we had the choice of both pools so not a real problem. The main pool does have the towel lounger reservation game going from about 8:00am onwards, so something to bear in mind. Both pools were very low key and peaceful, but the main hotel pool lounger were definitely in demand. We stayed on a breakfast only arrangement and I have to say the selection and quality of food was excellent, we all really enjoyed that. Would stay again if the issues with the beach improved (obviosuly not a hotel issue at all). Issues being complete lack of loungers on the beach and limited access into the water to swim due to small rocky approach into the water on one side and more rocks not much further out, and heavily (forest like) seaweed problems in the sea on the other side of the rocky dividing bar (seaweed also piled up on the beach and seemingly never cleared by the local council, not attractive and smells awful). Anyway, the hotel, staff, service and locations were all really good. Had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay in Corralejo...

What a difference since we last stayed at Corralejo Beach Hotel !||Much improved !!||• New beds, very comfortable.|• New light bulbs ( presume now LED ). The room is no longer dull and gloomy but bright and welcoming. Also very pretty new bedside lamps.|• New outside patio furniture, not white plastic and tatty anymore, but grey and stylish and above all, comfortable.|• New addition to the outside patio is a boxed, extendable clothes line, VERY useful !|• New stand for suitcases.||As usual, the room was spotlessly clean, the housekeeping staff work very hard. |The maintenance team quickly fixed the bathroom door that was difficult to shut. |We mentioned it in the morning, by the evening it had been planed and we could shut it without having to slam it. |The grounds were immaculate, very well maintained. We noticed one member of the outside team who seemed particularly hard working. Over three evenings we saw him, washing windows, cutting all the lawns and even decorating one of the rooms, inside and out. He never stopped working ! Older chap, white hair. ||The breakfasts were excellent, so much choice and beautifully presented, All the staff there were great. ||We very much appreciated the bottle of wine and two small bottles of water that were in our room on arrival. Also the bottle of fizzy wine that was left to celebrate Hubby's birthday. Thank you CBH, that was a very nice gesture ! ||One thing that could be improved or added would be in the bathroom.|Narrow, curved end shelves could be fitted beside one or both sides of the recessed mirror above the basin. This would provide valuable storage space for toilettries instead of having everything cluttered around the basin. It would also make it easier for housekeeping to clean the basin area. ||All in all, we were very impressed with the improvements that have been made and would like to thank all the staff who are our stay an enjoyable one, especially Nick...

We visited again as a couple and had a royal apartment ie overlooking the bay top floor .|You are in a fantastic spot close to local beaches ,bars , restaurants, shops etc so that is a plus point .|We have stayed in a royal apartment 3 times in the past couple of years as well as other hotels in resort .|We stayed in a room duplex that was well equipped for us as there was a washing machine, cooker/oven and all equipment that you could wish for which was great .|However the hotel are in the process of removing all of the washing machines which is a bit of a shame as it’s so convenient.|Another gripe is that when you are paying for a royal apartment with a pool that is supposedly just for the clients of corralejo Sol and you have paid a premium price-some of the clients of the corralejo bay see it fit to come into this area and reserve sunbeds at an ungodly hour ( 8 one day for a group of cackling prat’s ) I use the term prat’s as they brought glass bottles and glasses and were particularly loud and irritating.|I get people are on holiday but it really did get on several peoples nerves.| No I didn’t confront them as I work with problem people in my daily business and I shouldn’t get worked up as I’m on holiday and to be fair so were they they were just dim I suppose.|Surely a lock on the through door to stop this nonsense would be an inexpensive fix .|The staff are all lovely and all work very hard and should be rewarded with a little something when you are staying there .|We won’t be going back to this hotel ever again as the sunbed situation is unacceptable when you are paying for a royal appt I feel sorry for the people who have bought an apartment in the corralejo Sol .|On a lighter note our shower didn’t work on day 2 and was replaced within the hour and nick on reception is an absolute legend and a real nice guy .|Give him a pat on the back and a raise .|Adios corralejo Sol...
