Well it's finally happened I have become old.. yesterday I was young ... now I have experienced the blank stare of the younger generation. Something they call the Gen Z stare, I literally had to look it up. Now don't get me wrong the food here is fantastic. Fresh and more on the healthier side, while still being delicious, of course depending on what you ordered. And the service here is great too, I just point this out because this was the first experience I had of the gen z stare. On our first attempt it was busy and wifey was anxious, so ordered me up to get a menu instead of waiting. Of course sometimes we get hangry, so I did my duty and went up. I reached the top of the stairs inside... and stepped on the railing, losing my balance, and trying to regain it as I tipped over slightly. I didn't fall but it must have looked weird to the waitress. So a word of warning if you go to sit inside, there is a railing at the top of the staircase which protrudes out. Anyhow, so when we ordered she must have thought that I was odd. Fair enough perhaps I am, but I Like me. But what a first for me, as she took our order, was this blank gen z stare which looked very rude. but later I learned that this was just her generation and how they look at you. I blame social media, but very disconcerting nonetheless. Still on other occasions we were served by a man and the boss lady. They were very nice and had a little bit of chat with you. Wifey and hubby love the food here and would eat here again and again. Hubby tried the la jefa (The Boss) burger. Which was really interesting and very tasty with walnuts which added an surprising little crunch to it. Wifey tried the Tostada de tomato rallado y aguacate. An open toasted sandwich with shredded tomato and avocado. We've been here a number of times and they're always busy. So if you're hungry it might not be the best place to eat, as there can be some wait during popular times. But if you can wait this is a fantastic place to eat and we would highly recommend it. And if you're not here to eat it's also a fantastic place to just have a drink. In a fairly prime location on the strip. And you can sit, eat and drink... watching the world go by from the comfort of your chair. And wifey wants me to mention how good the...
Read moreLast day of holidays. So we popped in for breakfast. At the time there was only two wait staff and one chef. They seated us straight away. However would only take drinks orders first. Didn't have an iced coffee changed to a regular coffee had to ask 4 times two differnt people for this coffee over our 45 min in the restaurant before i got my coffee. One of the breakfasts were wrong. All she ordered was toast with avocado and tomorrow, came out wrong. Then the chef and the waitress proceded to have a shouting match over it. Then a staff memeber took the food and ate it, while clearly the waitiress who was serving us was under huge pressure. The one dish didn't come out till the rest of the group of 5 had there's and we had to ask serval times. The first staff member when asked were her food was was yes it's coming I also took this time to ask where my coffee was all I got was yes. And the second time I ask her she told me all she does is drinks. So she got someone else to look after us. It only tool 5 min for the food to come out. Over all when we arrived there was one waitress very busy and clearly overwhelmed. A couple more staff members did arrive but didn't seam to help at all. The food that did come out was bland no seasonings. Got the chef special, toast no butter or oil with caramelised onions and we got a whole onion and to scrap it off with scrambled eggs again no salt or pepper with bacon. 3 people at the table got this. Very disappointing. I wouldnt go back. And for a place that's on the main strip I think they could do so...
Read moreWe had dinner at Alma Brunch during our recent holiday in Corralejo. We had eaten here last year so we were looking forward to returning. We almost didn't go as there are limited vegetarian dinner options - one burger and 2 salads - and one of our party wasn't sure about the artichoke burger option. However we were so happy we went to Alma as she said the burger was the highlight of the holiday! My husband got the cowboy burger (beef patty, rasher, tomato, bbq salsa and cheese) and I got the chicken burger (strips of breaded chicken with tomato lettuce, pickles and pink sauce). Burgers are served with fries and it's €4 extra to upgrade to sweet potato fries - which is expensive but they are delicious though so I paid the extra. The restaurant is open for breakfast, brunch and lunch too and the brekkie options sounded very tasty such as acia bowls, omelettes, pancakes, croissants, bacon etc. so I think we will have to go back for lunch next time. Good selection of wine, beers and cocktails to choose from also. My only complaint is that they don't have a children's menu which is disappointing, so really the only option is breaded chicken fingers or sweet potato fries from the starters, but they are quite expensive choices for a 5 year old. Our son got the chicken fingers which were very tasty so he was happy anyhow. We got a slice of strawberry cheesecake and chocolate cake to share for dessert and they were both yummy. Overall a very enjoyable meal and I would be...
