Arrival was after 10pm, so I felt a little apprehensive as I rang the buzzer at a building on the busy Grand Via. No apprehension necessary - everything at this budget hostal was impeccable. The room was extremely clean (decoration a little quirky, but easy to overlook), the wifi worked well, air conditioning in the room. We had very little to do with the staff other than a Buenos Dias or a Buenos Noches as we came or left, but they seemed very friendly and are obviously extremely conscientious. The beds were two singles, instead of a double, pushed together. They had been made up as singles, but we didn't bother to ask if the bedding could be changed. However, they were very comfortable. The room was unexpectedly quiet given that it is on a very busy and main road, and the location very central for exploring. This place was quite a find for very little euros, perfect for independent travellers not expecting a luxurious experience but appreciating cleanliness and that everything works...

I reserved this b&b bacuase I was travelling for an extended weekend and was looking for a room that was both economic and well located. Well, the Hostal Delfina is spotlessly clean, had super water pressure (for the 4th floor) and ticked all my other boxes in terms of somewhere to lay my head after I'd walked all over the city. Although some of the decoration may be a tad quirky, it is a great place and unparalleled in terms of location. Senora Delfina greets you with charm and grace each time you come 'home' and they're more than happy to assist whenever possible - in my case, with a super powerful hairdryer. The only issue I might have had for a longer than 5 day stay was the noise both off the street, and of people arriving ( as they ring the doorbell).. But it was a mere disruption - nothing more severe. We received tips of good restaurants nearby which proved accurate and I'd highly recommend this establishment if you're a hardy traveler for whom location and price are...

I chose the Delfina over other options because I was looking for a place close to Plaza Cibeles since I had an early morning flight out and would need to get the Airport Express bus that stops at Cibeles. The Delfina's location is close, on the Gran Via, right above the landmark Museo Chicote.||||I had a single room with private bath. The bathroom was retrofitted onto a room previously without plumbing. The drain in the shower was very slow, so I was worried about flooding the floor with even the shortest of showers. The walls were also very thin, so I could hear every word of my very noisy neighbor and her child during the night. ||||On the plus side, the ladies who run the place were friendly and helpful. The wifi was fast. There is an elevator to the hostal. In summary, nothing spectacular but the proximity to the airport bus made it a good choice for...

Beware! Although this is a very kind and clean small hotel, the entire façade is covered with scaffolding, resulting in unbearable noise very early every morning! Gran Via itself is incredibly noisy and a major route for emergency vehicles (IE: police sirens, ambulances at all hours) but adding to this constant noise is hammering, drilling, and chatter of construction workers, this morning directly outside the window just before 8 a.m.! You WILL NOT get much sleep here, even with earplugs. No ventilation other than opening the street facing doors... so the room was stuffy and felt airless without opening them. It is a real shame as the owners seem very friendly and the property itself is affordable and very clean. What a bad experience!

#hostal#lovely#goodservice#smilingstaff# I really loved this hostal Delfina which was named after the old, welcoming lady Madam Delfina I think. She doesn't speak English, only her daughter did, but still she was very welcoming and tried to explain things in Spanish and has a good word for everyone. I liked the comfy bed and small bathroom, my only sorrow was that they do not offer breakfast too. The location is excellent , I came at night because of my flight and it has good connections from airport and metro. Everything is close , the museums, the park the shops. It is not a cheap place, but it worth every penny, and next time I will definitely come back here. I highly recommend this place.

Excellent place to stay in Madrid. In the centre. From here you can walk anywhere. It’s run by a lovely lady, it’s super clean and quiet. The prices are very reasonable too. There is no breakfast but there are lots of restaurants around. The furniture is a bit old fashion but it’s part of the charm of the place.
