I'm very unhappy about my experience at this hotel the night of June 17, 2025, room 323. Prior to me explaining what happened, let me give you some objective data of the hotel. It is located near the airport, which is what I wanted. My wife and I flew in from Italy and had a flight out the following day, June 18th. The staff was friendly, the hotel was nice, the rooms were clean. The breakfast was great.
Here is the problem. Summer has officially started and the temperature was warm. The air conditioning system does not display any numerical temperature reading, it only displays a manual rotary knob from - to +. Even when turning the deal as far to the left as possible, the negative side, the room at it's coldest temperature might of gotten to 21 degrees celsius, probably warmer as there was no thermostat. Now, this was okay enough. Here is the issue, around 4:00 am in the morning I woke up drenched in sweat. It was a sauna in the room. I opened the window, but that did not help as it was just as warm outside as in the room, no wind, and noise from the nearby highway. I called reception and asked why my room was so uncomfortably warm if my air conditioning knob was turned fully to the left. The receptionist said the air conditioning system was controlled by the hotel and worked in intervals, the next cooling interval was to start at 5:00 am. I had to take a cold shower to ddal with this proble. 5:00 am came around and the temperatature fell to a somewhat tolerable level, but no way was it cool.
Under other circumstances I'd give this stay 5 stars. What circumstances? Cooler period of the year, or even a functioning air conditioning system. The hotel was controlling the air conditioner by managing the coolest point of the room, which was already too warm, and for a few hours, turned off the cooling entirely, so tje system was literally blowing hot air. At no point during check in did they disclose that was going to happen. When looking at their website it says it offer air conditioning, which was accurate, but misleading considering air conditioning implies cooling.
I am not a spiteful person, but I paid to have an awful night. I tend to think in solutions.
My suggestion is this hotel either 1. Disclose their air conditioning policy on their website. Stating the lowest temperature they will allow the room to acheive and that they turn off all cooling in the middle of the night. This way one can decide if these conditions are acceptable. Or 2. They charge a nightly air conditioning premium so that someone like me can make the room as cool as I please (within reason, 20 degrees celsius would have been just fine).
Again, otherwise the place is perfect. I am aware that european power/electricity is expensive. The common area hallways, which are semi-outdoor do not have cooling, and the rooms require the key card to activate the use of power. I am totally okay with this as I understand they need to manage power usage, but last night was unjustifiably hot.
Very, very unpleasant and I feel purposely misleading and...
ย ย ย Read moreWhat a fabulous hotel, perfect for the airport as there is a free shuttle and free car ๐ parking if you drive to the hotel. The rooms are tastefully decorated, including a well stocked fridge. There is a. Complimentary safe for peace of mind. The air conditioning is quiet and effective. There is a full size bath which is a bonus as well as a shower above the bath.Free fast WIFI. Maybe an iron in the room. Thumbs up๐ tea and โ coffee making facilities are now in the room. MAYBE A FEW ENGLISH SPEAKING CHANNELS ON THE TELEVISION IN THE BEDROOMS WOULD BE A GREAT ADDITION. The swimming pool is lovely, you can bake in the sun all day on one of the sun loungers with a complimentary towel supplied when you arrive at the pool or find shade under one of the very large parasol. There is a lifeguard on duty throughout the day. How to spend the early evening, well I would suggest sitting outside where you will find a wonderful retreat with bar comfortable chairs and background music. Decided to eat dinner in the restaurant and have the buffet dinner, โฌ19.90 for an adult and โฌ9 for a child up to the age of 12. Great value and the food is very good with a good selection of starters, 3 main courses and a good selection of desserts ๐ GREAT VALUE and including a glass of wine in the price. My only criticism would be that maybe there should be more choice regarding vegetables with the main course. Overall ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ The restaurant staff were very polite and attentive ๐ great coffee โ to finish off the meal and there is a very relaxed atmosphere too. The buffet breakfast: a selection of fresh juice drinks and bottled water, if you want it extra cold there is a bucket of ice cubes. Fresh ground coffee and tea on tap. The hot breakfast consists of fried eggs, bacon, tortillas, chorizo sausage and scrambled egg. The cold selection consists of fresh melon, kiwi fruit, cooked ham, salmon, sliced chirizo and cheese. There is a large selection of pastries including croissants. There is a varied selection of bread ready to slice and toast. All in all a very nice buffet breakfast ๐ Well we havent had time to visit the spa or gym so cant really comment, however if they are anything like the other facilities we have enjoyed then I would have no problem in recommending them. Overview: Great hotel and facilities, great food, polite, helpful and courteous staff. More than just a stop over for flights. Worth spending a few days to a week here and use as a base to visit Madrid. Shuttle bus every day at 11.30am to the city centre. Thank you for an unforgettable stay and five star experience ๐๐๐๐๐ Back here again for one night before we fly back to the UK. It's a complete joy...
ย ย ย Read moreWe were a group of 7 people, 2 families with children. We were looking for a hotel close to the airport in order to quickly reach the airport and the terminal in the morning. After receiving the packages at the airport, we immediately tried to call the hotel to arrange the transfer. 4 adults tried to call the hotel continuously, but no one answered the phone for an hour (!!!). After that, we even wrote an e-mail (no response has been received to this day...). Finally, after 1 hour, a small VW van arrived for the considerable number of people waiting, which could take a total of 8 people only. Of course we didn't fit in. In the end, we took taxis to the hotel, but it is better to choose Uber as it is cheaper even for this short distance.
There were two young men at the hotel reception, luckily they spoke English. Check-in was very slow. While they were working, the phones kept ringing, but they didn't answer... In the meantime, we saw that there was a large Mercedes bus (with the hotel's logo) in the hotel's parking lot, and we asked why it was not sent for the passengers. They couldn't answer. We also asked this in the morning from the young girls on duty at the time, they didn't know either...
The next morning, the free shuttle could not be used between 7 and 8 hours, this line was simply crossed out in the table. It is incomprehensible, since this is a frequented period.
The waiters were very helpful in the restaurant and at breakfast, but no one spoke any foreign languages.
We had dinner in the garden, it was delicious. The breakfast is very plentiful, with a wide selection, fresh products, and the missing parts were...
