They call themselves a 4 Star hotel but their services are more close to a 2 star one.
I had to change my room twice but the issues were not resolved. The first room they gave me had a broken mirror as soon as I entered the room. After reporting this I was offered another room to a different floor.
In the second room the air-conditioning was not working at all. Again i had to report this issue after which their manager came up to the room, called their maintenance guy to fix it which took them almost 15 mins. Just when I thought ok finally I can enjoy the stay, the AC again stopped working.
Since I had booked the room from Booking, com I escalated the issue to them, their were back and forth conversations between me, booking, com and the hotel management. The worst thing is that the hotel refused to clearly acknowledge the issue to the booking, com but were rather playing around with words to keep themselves safe. This conversation went around for an hour between the parties so much so that after an hour they send another guy to the room to offer an alternative solution. He told me that the hotel is currently in a warm mode air conditioning and that all the rooms are ran under the same mode, they cannot change it for one room and even if they offer a third room to me, the issue would be more or less the same. He said the temperature is maintained 24°C with warm air circulating the room. The solution he offered me was to keep the room windows open so that the fresh air keeps circulating through the room and the temp stays below 24°C. I had to keep the rooms windows open the entire time during my stay and sleep in a warm room with noise coming from outside.
Now why the hell would anyone even book a AC room if they have to keep the windows open to keep the low temperature and how does this hotel even advertises themselves as a 4 Star hotel who cannot even provide the basic facilities which they advertise like AC etc.
I was told that the manager has already left and that she would speak with me the next day. She did not even have the courtesy to show up the next day to check if everything is ok. When checking out on my last day, she saw me from a distance away and immediately looked away and took off to avoid any sort of conversation and hide her embarrassment. And the guy who took the access card back simply said Ok, everything is fine.
I highly advice you to think twice before booking here. Because if the problems arise neither this hotel management nor booking, com is going to help you.
Well in addition to this there were other small observations which I made. During check-in, the women at the check-in counter who offered me the room access card. The entire time during check-in she was having continuous coversation with her colleague who was standing near by about the casual topics and asking few questions in between to me about some details that she needed, instead of fully focusing on my check-in first. Secondly, the pillows in the room had either holes in them or stains on them. Thirdly, the bath floor had damage on it as well. Fourthly, when most of the 4 Star hotels provide atleast a shower gel and a shampoo separate these day, this one provides a 2 in 1 shower gel and a shampoo.
Overall, I would say, look for a different hotel for a more...
Read moreDon't stay here unless you want stuff to go missing and the hotel to do NOTHING about it. I had travelled in Portugal prior to this and had switched from my expensive designer wallet to my travel wallet upon arrival in Madrid (at the hotel so I know for a fact it was with me). I placed it in my luggage as I have with hotels all over the world. My bag was packed in full again on the morning of the 17th prior to heading out for the day as I was leaving at 5am on the 18th. My wallet was in my bag for sure - saw it. when i arrived back on the evening of the 17th I simply changed put my clothes in and closed my bag without looking. I took a TRAIN to my next destination so my bag was never not with me or in my sight. I arrived in Seville and my wallet was gone. I called Motel One and was told manager wasn't in she would call me back. The entire remainder of my stay no call back. Returned home called again - once again was told manager wasn't in - then called back and finally got the manager who took the entire time to tell me I was lying. The housekeeper has worked there 20 years apparently. They then did an "investigation" which included checking key card access and since she only went in its clear to them IIm lying. The wallet is 725 CAD to replace. The hotel has offered me NOTHING just accusations of making it up. I've travelled extensively and don't stay in anything less than a 4 star hotel. This is disgusting and I will NEVER stay there again.
Unprofessional staff.
On top of this theft, the room wasn't cleaned properly - the sheets looked like they'd been rolled into a ball prior to being put on the bed and they were NOT changed. She was probably too busy stealing from me to change the sheets.
The noise is unacceptable - i got ZERO sleep both nights - the staff isn't very friendly and the hotel in general is dark and dingy. Save yourself and...
Read moreThe good: The hotel is located close to all tourist attractions, restaurants, shops, movie theaters, grocery stores...Everything that you need is 5 minutes away. The rooms are kept clean. The people at the front desk and breakfast room were kind.
The bad: The rooms have a musty moldy smell. The rooms are very clean, but very outdated and In desperate need of a facelift. Now, they are redoing the exterior building (there's construction when you walk through the front lobby) , but I REALLY think they need to be investing money in updating the rooms rather than the outside. When we first arrived they put us in room 217, which after 30 seconds in the room, shared a wall with the elevator. So if you are in any of the x17 rooms, SWITCH. You will NOT SLEEP FROM THE DOOR SLAMMING EVERY TIME SOMEONE ENTERS THE ELEVATOR. I immediately went back to the lobby and they put us in another room, away from the elevator. The breakfast was disappointing. We actually had to wait to be seated because they didn't have any tables open. Once we were taken to our table, i realized there were only 8 small tables in the breakfast room, that's it. I don't know if there is a bigger breakfast room elsewhere, but this was the smallest I've seen for a hotel this size. Now, the breakfast itself was comprised of pork, eggs, and cereal. Nothing interesting. The milk containers were both empty, the pepper grinder didn't work, and if you're vegan, you might as well skip breakfast. I think they charge 15 euro for it, which if it wasn't included in my rate, I would STRONGLY suggest you have...
