If you want to book only one night, think twice! 0 starts if possible! So we booked the hotel for one night due to its proximity to the airport. We were given a room near the reception - 010. Our mistake was to go straight to the beach and not check it. The room had no balcony (just a window facing a wall) although we booked a room with a balcony. We went to the reception to ask for another room or a compensation, the receptionist told us to come back in the morning (it was after 23:00)and discuss with his colleague as this was not under his remit. That was ok with us, but then… we discovered the bathroom - it was not clean - nails on the floor, beard trimming hair on the sink and.. toilet not cleaned!!! At a 4* hotel! At 7am I was at the reception desk complaining about this - fortunately the shifts had changed and his colleague was already there - but surprise - her reply « I am sorry, there is nothing we can do now, why didn’t you come in the evening? » ?!?!? Of course, they offered their free breakfast trick for which we didn’t fall to.. I was trying to explain that we were given a DIRTY room (without balcony although we paid extra for it) - their reply « I am sorry.. nothing we can do now» I am filling a complaint with the Spanish Consumer Administration just now and reviewing the hotel on all my social media channels. It’s just not possible to take people for fools the way they did
Edit after hotel reply to my review: I am sure you will - but what about my experience and the money I paid for those services?? And btw, my name is...
Read moreOverall we had a good stay at BQ Amfora but had a major problem with the concierge. The rooms were small but comfortable and clean with good air conditioning. Facilities were also well maintained. There is parking available at their sister hotel nearby for 10 EUR a day. During our trip, we booked a boat tour with the concierge and she thought she undercharged us (she didn’t). Since she thought she made an error, she deactivated our room keys at the end of her shift that night, which led to us being locked out of our room at 2am. The night manager only knows some English so it was a challenge to explain that no error was actually made. While mistakes can happen, it’s extremely unprofessional to lock customers out of their room in the middle of the night because of an error you thought you made. I would expect if we were actually undercharged that the hotel would cover the difference as it’s their mistake rather than locking us out of our room, or waiting until morning to explain. It is unacceptable to lock customers out unless there’s an extreme disturbance. Facing homelessness that night was rather frightening as we were two women traveling. The night manager was very apologetic once we used Google translate a few times to explain...
Read moreWould not recommend this place. The hotel is down a side street that the airport bus cannot access so you have to get if on the main road and drag you case 5 mins down a tiny street with no real pavement. ||I was given a room across the road not in the main hotel, this building had no amenities just a block of rooms you have to cross the road to use the pool or get breakfast etc. I asked for a higher up room as travelling alone and was given a ground floor room with no option to move. Next as everyone has said the rooms are tiny I had a single occupancy room but I didn’t realise this also meant a single size bed! That’s a first in my 30 years of travelling to get such a small bed. The room was however clean which is the only good point for this hotel. ||The plane noise from the airport is annoying. ||Found staff unhelpful in general bordering on being rude. ||Location to the beach is ok and local shops. Although the location is ok for the beach I would never return to this hotel. A major...
