Hotel Balear — Hotel in Palma

SCAM : We spent three nights at Hotel Balear due to its proximity to Palma airport : the first two at the beginning of our trip and the last one on our final day. The prices were excessively high, ranging from 115 to 155 euros per night without breakfast. For a three-star hotel, the quality fell short of expectations and it should be rated lower. Additionally, when we arrived late at night, we found no bottled water available, and there was no shampoo or shower gel provided. We also tried the breakfast, which cost 8 euros per person, and it was less than ordinary. The most disgusting thing about the room was the cockroach we found around the table in the morning, which shocked us. Overall, the experience was disappointing, and basic amenities and better service should be provided given the high cost. After our first 2 nights, we moved to Palma city in between. We wanted to cancel the last night and emailed the hotel three days in advance, asking for a refund since we had already paid. They confirmed the cancellation but stated they would not refund us. Incredible! We immediately emailed back, insisting on a refund or to keep our reservation if they couldn’t refund us. They didn’t respond. We called to explain the situation, and they told us to call back on Monday, which was after the night in question. We told them to keep the reservation, but the staff member rudely said "ok, ok, ok" and hung up while we were still talking. Since we were sure they wouldn't refund us, we decided to stay there. Upon arrival, they couldn’t find our reservation and said it was cancelled and that the hotel was fully booked. After much explanation, they finally found a room for us. Additionally, we asked for a taxi to go to the airport, and they said it would be 15 euros for a 5-minute drive, but we ended up paying 19 euros. Overall, it was a horrible experience...

I have been staying here for 2 nights have just tried to extend the third. This hotel is well placed by the beach but is a bit dingy and I wonder about the security. But it was okay so I booked another room. I pay 95euros down at the reception just now at 6.15 am on august 31st to a receptionist ( from Senegal, tall black, thin, glasses, middle aged) who doe snot know how to do his job. After waiting 20 minutes for him to even pull up the listing and having him go through the paper work as if he doesn't know how to read, he had me pay by card, which I paid for . I checked with my bank it went through. Almost 100 EUROS. |he the. Had te receipt machine block and realized it was paperless. He took another 10 minutes to find the paper roll and still could make the machine work so I TEIE TO MAKE ME PAY AGAIN. I SHOWED HIM I ALREADY HAD SAID I WOULDNT BE DOING IT. |HE INSISTED I COME DOWN AT 8 OR 9 AM TO SI IT AGAIN WITH HIS OTHER COLLEAGUE WHO KNOW SHOW TO DO IT. |I have a meeting. |When I refuse and said I needed some type of proof of payment he started yelling at me that he wouldn't give it to me and that I had to pay again.
