The friendly staff make this hotel the FAB experience that it is. From the gardeners, waiters, cleaners, chefs up to the ladies and gents behind reception, they are all FAB and are a credit to the hotel and the company ‘Service Group’. The hotel in general is clean, the rooms are large and have fridges and AC which is a bonus in this hot July weather. The breakfast, lunch and dinner is all buffet style and is tasty with lots of regional dishes very Spanish. The swimming pool is great, again clean and sun-bed hogging is NOT allowed. The hotel has its on private sun loungers and sun canopies on a fabulous sandy beach with the warm waters of the Mediterranean lapping at your feet. The sea is fabulous for little ones as it gently slopes and there’s not any strong undercurrents. The old town on Peniscola with its rich architecture, small cobble streets and superb restaurants, is only a ten minute walk. I believe we are currently the only Brits staying in the hotel, and to be honest this suits us. The likes of TUI JET2 etc haven’t yet accosted this hotel for the ‘fly n flop’ all inclusive Brits abroad, this is great news and personally my better half and I aren’t fans of full English breakfast everyday with pints of lager at 10am and a roast and two veg for lunch. If this is what you want, then Benidorm is an hour and a half’s drive down the road. Peniscola is very Spanish with lots of local eateries serving authentic Spanish food. If you want to visit this area and enjoy the superb Spanish hospitality and are not interested in eating McDonalds or Greggs, then Peniscola and Hotel Papa Luna will certainly...

Read moreMy partner and i really enjoyed our stay at the Servigroup Papa Luna Hotel in Pensacola. The location is beautiful, right on the beach and the hotel have reserved sunbeams on the beach for you to use. The pool is of good size too and we never struggled to get sun beds. The staff are friendly and the rooms a good size and kept clean. The main reason we chose this hotel is because of its reputation for gluten free catering, as i am coeliac. The food definitely didn't disappointed. We really do not speak much Spanish, but that was not a problem. There was an extremely helpful waitress who translated the whole gluten free menu into English for us one evening and she then took my food orders each lunch time for the following day, to ensure the kitchen could prepare. It was great to not have to worry about food! They cater for dairy free too. All staff in the restaurant recognised us each day and despite the language barrier, ensured my food order came out and was correct. A great hotel, definitely recommend for those with allergies! If you can learn a bit of Spanish however, to describe allergies that would be helpful. Not many...
