We just got back after spending a week here. Before going I was worried after reading some negative reviews but none of that mattered when you are there as it was a great holiday. |Check in was at 2pm, we arrived at 11am but our room wasn’t ready but it was fine as we got a couple of sun beds by the pool and the kids played in the pool. The room was ready just after 2. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 kids, the room is a bit small but it’s fine for what you need it for, to sleep and get ready. The bed size was fine for us, 2 doubles pushed together. We just lined out suitcases up along the sliding door, some people left theirs on the balcony or under the bed. I had downloaded the hotel app and requested more hangers and these were brought up to the room very quickly. The room was very clean and comfy, safe cost 25 euros to hire for the week and it’s a good size, shampoo, shower gel and hand soap provided in the bathroom. |Sun bed situation isn’t too bad. Pool opens at 9 but people seem to queue from 8. I would have went down just after 9 as I wasn’t queuing and I was always able to get a few sun beds beside the pool. The lifeguards will leave a note on your bed if you haven’t been there for a while and if you still aren’t back after 20 mins they will lift the towels. I thought this was good as it stopped sun beds being taken but not used by people for ours. I felt sorry for the lifeguards though as they took some abuse from the people whose towels they lifted. It’s simple though, don’t put your towel down unless you are using it. |The pool is a decent size and me and the kids always had plenty of room to play in it. The slides are great for the kids. The lifeguards are strict on the rubber ring size you are allowed for the pool, which isn’t a bad thing as it stops the pool being crowded with big floats. There is a sign where you can see what size of ring you can have. The on-site shop sells some and are suitable for the pool. Always music playing around the pool and the entertainment staff are excellent with the kids and work hard. Many different activities to do around the pool. |Pool bar can be a bit slow at getting served, a couple of days there was a young guy serving and he was really nice but Marelyn I think it’s spelt, is a bit rude. One of the days she was on you couldn’t get any slushies for the kids or daiquiris and she said they weren’t ready yet. She told me this at 11am when the bar open and still told me this at 9pm for the mini disco. I think she just didn’t want to make them. All the staff are very friendly in the hotel, she just lets the side down a bit. |Food in the hotel is decent. We only ate dinner twice, one night wasn’t great, the next night was great. We swapped the other dinners for lunch as we had planned to go out for some dinners and were at other days out. The lunches were great. Breakfast was fine, plenty of cereals, fruit, yoghurts available. Cooking station where you could get fresh omelettes, fried eggs and pancakes. |We were only at the night entertainment a few times. It was fine, not always what we enjoy but we aren’t fussed as we prefer going out in the evenings for a walk about. |The hotel is great location, can walk to the theme park in 10 mins and the beach and strip is also about 10 mins away. |For the price we paid, the hotel was great and we have already booked for next year as there is more that we want to do in Salou and this hotel is great...
Read moreFast and easy check in and quick lift to our room which was small but enough space for 2 adults and a toddler with 2 double beds and also cleaned to a decent standard. Rooms were cleaned daily if requested and they do a great job at this. ||Can request extra hangers i believe for clothes as not great space for storage but wasn't a problem and mini fridge to store cold drinks. Aircon was great and shower was good as was our balcony - pool and entertainment view. ||Breakfast is 10/10. Made to order omelette, fried eggs, pancakes, pan toasted bread. Along side freshly pressed orange juice and other machine juices.|Didn't try lunch as half board but sometimes made salad rolls/snacks/fruit from breakfast and were nice.|Dinner was good, freshly carved roast beef from show cooking was amazing and nice sides. Nachos station. Great salad bar and meats/cheeses. Also nice pantries, tapas etc and desserts were amazing. Good food for toddlers pasta, meatballs, breaded chicken, fish. vegetables, soft desserts - chocolate fountain. Even had ice cream stand one night.|We enjoyed the dinner the times we ate in although we did go out a couple of nights to local restaurants to break up our stay which we personally like doing. |Pool area was adequate enough with good slides and the little kids pool was great. Space around it pretty small but never a problem.|Never queued for loungers once and usually got them although not always in shade if that's what you want. If we didn't get them in the morning we went a walk and came back and were avaliable by mid day. Pool area is fun and lively, always activities and the team are great. Often done free fruit/sangria and fun pool activities too.|The kids play area in shade could be doing with a refurb but good enough for babies and shade.|The guy at night and early morning does great work cleaning and preparing pool although people there leave food/trays rubbish about and dont bin/return them - tramps!|Can't be helped|Pool bar was drinks were reasonable and ok. Workers again hard working and pretty busy. Usually went into inside bar for drinks if their was a queue and I was dry. Served quicker |Pizzas were nice for a lunch snack and filling. Didn't try anything else.||Staff are lovely and catering staff work hard so hats off to them.|The entertainment is good for what they have and make it the best possible. My son enjoyed kids disco especially when they took children on a Conga shouting heyoh into the dinner hall 😆|Dont worry they come back 🤣||Overall a pleasant experience and for the price half board all round great value with a decent standard of hotel. 3 star is perfectly rated and also very close to shops/bars/restaurants mini fayre ground and further to promenade and beach.|Would stay again! It's all what...
Read moreRecently I spent 7 nights at this hotel, I booked 2 rooms for a family of 5 and we arrived at around 12:30pm. It was much appreciated that the hotel was able to facilitate an early check in for us. Abdul was great at explaining everything very clearly at check-in. Actually any staff I spoke to during my stay was always kind and spoke good english.
On arrival we found the rooms to be quite small however also very clean, modern and functional. The bathroom door left little to be desired but we had a pool view room and the balcony door did a decent job at sound proofing the room. The housekeeping service throughout the week was a little disappointing (no linen changes?), I must say though you could always see them working very hard in other areas of the hotel.
The amenities were what you would expect for a 3 star and were mostly all acceptable with the exception of the spa which could do with some attention. In the dining area the water marks on all the glasses was pretty bad but the food was more than acceptable and at times impressive. Some dishes maybe required re-heating which was never a problem. We went half board but the hotel offered us to swap dishes provided they had notice, also much appreciated as allowed flexibility for excursions-like Port Adventura a very short walk away!
The pool was very good and there was plenty of room to allow my mum and I to get a good dip. It was cleaned daily in the morning prior to opening and the staff worked very hard to maintain it including the sun lounger areas throughout the day-some staff are also very strict about attempts to reserve sun loungers. Please visitors pick up after yourselves too-don't leave your cig butts down by your lounger, so gross.!
The entertainment/animation team do an amazing job running activities for both kids and adults such as archery, foam parties, water sports, pool competitions & taster sessions. In the evening the hotel had a good mix of hired acts vs the animation team's own quizzes and contest through the week. Some parents definitely should have been supervising their kids better and not expect so much from the limited staff. The bar also seemed understaffed at times however they always did their best to get through many orders with a smile and professional attitude! Keike & Pablo in particular very attentive, also very kind and friendly.
If you have a family, and don't plan on staying at your hotel every day or don't mind 40+ kids running mad if you do want to stay every day, then I would recommend this place. Despite the few things I did not like, I still think I got a lot for my money to be honest, when I return to Salou I will be considering staying at the...
