The hotel, as the name suggests is an old villa with the lower floors orginal and the upper floors a modern extension. The back of the hotel faces onto a large, motor traffic free sandy beach. The rear view of the hotel is more attractive than the front which is on a street. That said this a lovely boutique hotel. ||The staff are friendly and helpful, from the front desk, the waiters to the cleaners. ||We stayed in a street facing room on one of the upper floors. The street is quiet at night and the room provides both normal electric blinds as well as blackout blind, that is necessary due to the street lighting. The hotel faces onto another hotel and a hostel.||The bedroom is very well equipped with everything pretty state of the art including the kettle, the hair-dryer and, surprisingly, the toilet.||There is a pillow menu, so if the ones supplied (one medium and one firm per guest), then you call always order alternatives.||The television when you switch it on quietly moves off the wall and into a position where you can see it and reverses this when you switch it off.||The bed was very comfortable not too soft.||The bathroom is a reasonable size and well equipped. We had a shower over a good length, deep bath with a neck rest cushion at one end. The shower tap is modern and quite sensitive to adjust the heat.||There are plenty of guest usable sockets for charging/using devices.||There is enough wardrobe space for a short stay and room to hang your clothes.||There is a small desk.||The breakfast consists of options included in the rate and a la carte. Included in the rate are juice, coffees/teas, fruit, yoghurt, granola, eggs of your choice and pastries. This is all served at the table, there is no buffet. Breakfast is served in the bar area at the rear of the hotel and on the adjacent terrace overlooking the beach. Breakfast service goes onto midday, so there is no pressure to get up early. However they do prefer you to say what time you want breakfast the night before.||In terms of location depending on your speed of walking it is about a fifteen minute walk into the old town (the nicest way to do this is to walk along the promenade by the beach and turn at the former casino building.||If you want to walk to the funicular (the views from the tower are worth it), then it is around thirty- forty minutes along the broadwalk.||I would highly recommend this hotel for its location and friendly and...

Read moreWe stayed there in february (I’ve been meaning to write a review for ages now) and it was just a PHENOMENAL stay!!! One of the best hotel experiences we ever had. The front desk staff during the day is just so kind and attentive, the concierge was so helpful, the room is extremely comfortable with an amazing view. The location is just AWESOME!
The breakfast was insanely good as well and we experienced a dinner at Amelia’s which as one can imagine, it was wonderfully delicious and a unique experience.
The only issue I had is that I got sick in the middle of one of the nights (nothing related to the hotel) and I needed some sort of fruit or milk to help soothe my stomach and spike my blood sugar levels (not the first time this has happened so I know how to deal with it). we called the front desk for help as all stores around were closed, all I needed was 1 tiny piece of fruit or a glass of milk since I didn’t have anything to eat in my room, but they said they couldn’t help. I couldn’t quite comprehend since I wouldn’t mind paying whatever they charged me for one piece of fruit I wasn’t asking for a meal. And if they truly wanted to help, I believe anyone could go into the kitchen and grab something, but not even telling them I was throwing up a lot made them create an exception which was a bummer. It was so bad I considered going to a hospital, but I just waited overnight until I could go to the pharmacy in the morning.
The morning staff however was also super helpful when we needed a last minute piece of laundry washed and it was past the laundry deadline!
Overall an amazing stay and I can’t...
