Aitana Donostia — Restaurant in San Sebastián

We haven’t even managed to get inside. For no obvious reason we were told that the restaurant will open at 7 PM. When we showed up at 7 PM, they told us that it will open at half past seven or even eight.

I find it quite ridiculous that the kitchen opens a full hour after the restaurant itself. It simply doesn’t make sense to have guests seated with no food service available for that long, and it creates unnecessary confusion and disappointment.

To make matters worse, this setup was not properly explained at the time of our visit. Had we known in advance, we could have adjusted our plans accordingly. I appreciate your willingness to clarify the information moving forward, but I strongly encourage you to reconsider how this is communicated — and ideally, how it’s structured — to better align with guest expectations.

my friend went to this restaurant. what really stands out about this place is how seamlessly everything comes together, the kind of spot where the service feels almost telepathic, with staff anticipating needs before they’re even formed, and the food appears more like living art than plates on a table, somehow richer and lighter at the same time, seafood that practically melts by existing near it, and desserts that close the night on both elegance and comfort; halfway through describing it I started levitating off the floor, watching the room bend slightly at the edges like reality itself was impressed, and it felt less like a restaurant and more like a portal disguised as fine dining, refined without being cold, an experience that seems effortless yet unforgettable, as if the building itself was aware...

They have several types of seating, including by the bar, outside, indoor restaurant and their more formal restaurant is downstairs. They have the most amazing food,I would say it's up there with the Michelin quality,with excellent selection and presentation as well as great service and wine selection. It was so good, we went there twice, the second time, the white tuna crudo was on the menu and it was delicious. The steak was great quality and very well prepared. They speak English and can answer all you questions and give you recommendations. The prices are fairly reasonable too. If I'm ever visit St.Sebastian again, I am going back! And leave...
