DO NOT STAY HERE — ESPECIALLY IF YOU’RE A WOMAN My group and I are still in shock after our experience at this hotel. I strongly advise against any solo traveling women or groups of women staying here. We had planned to stay for a week while attending a wedding but we ended up leaving the FIRST night due to serious safety concerns.
From the start our interactions with the on-site security guard felt off but we brushed it off after the first strange conversation while checking in. However not even an hour later the same security guard left his post in the hotel lobby and followed us to a nearby grocery store. He stood at the checkout watching us while trying to engage in another conversation, it was very unsettling. Later that evening as we were leaving for our first event we noticed him standing right outside our hotel room watching us leave. It made us all incredibly uncomfortable. The next incident left my friends emotionally and physically traumatized by this same security guard INSIDE our hotel room where we should have felt safe. When we brought our concerns and the very serious incident to hotel management we were met with defensiveness and a complete lack of professionalism. The manager refused to take our claims seriously despite the existence of multiple security footage from throughout that entire day that backed us up !!! Their defense they tried running with was from a fought that broke out AFTER the dangerous actions of this employee & him stating he will be back at our room later that night. This fought was in result of the hotel protecting their dangerous employee over a group of girls. Instead of support or empathy we were treated like we were the problem.
We were told to email for a refund on our rooms because we left immediately after the last incident due to feeling unsafe and scared, but the hotel refused. Not just our room, but a SECOND room packed up to leave because they felt completely unsafe too. We were met with denial, blame, and no accountability. Even after police got involved there was no apology or concern shown at all. They seemed more focused on protecting the staff member & keeping our money than supporting us as guests and women in a foreign country.
If you read other reviews you’ll see this hotel often responds to criticism with defensiveness, which speaks volumes about how they handle guest concerns. As a group of women we felt completely unsafe, unheard, and disrespected. Again, if you're traveling as a woman or in a group of women I highly recommend looking elsewhere as it feels like there is something more going on here!!! Do it for...
Read moreWe spontaneously decided to extend our vacation by two days and chose the Migjorn Hotel. However, shortly after our arrival, problems began to arise.
We wanted to go to the beach, but suddenly found ourselves stuck in the hotel elevator. To make matters worse, the lights in the elevator went out. We were trapped for approximately five minutes before finally being freed. What infuriated us the most was that nobody apologized as if getting stuck in the elevator was completely normal. This incident alone left us feeling uneasy.
After this incident, we completely lost trust in the hotel and decided that we didn't want to stay there any longer. Additionally, we were extremely dissatisfied with the rooms and the facilities. We politely approached the reception and asked if we could check out due to feeling uncomfortable. The receptionist, Roberto, said it was okay, but since we had booked through Expedia, we had to resolve the issue with them in order to get a refund. We immediately called Expedia and explained the situation to them. Expedia then contacted the hotel to resolve the matter. To our surprise, the hotel informed Expedia over the phone that they were unwilling to provide any refund. I had to explain to Expedia once again that we had been promised a refund just five minutes ago, but only with Expedia's approval. While Expedia called the hotel again (and I could overhear the conversation), the hotel abruptly hung up and stated that they no longer wanted to speak English. This led to a heated argument, and suddenly the receptionists conveniently "forgot" about the previous agreement, making unfounded claims that were never mentioned minutes before. Moreover, they were unfriendly, arrogant, retreated to the back room, and left us standing there.
In the end, Expedia, as the booking partner, had to initiate the refund due to the safety incident and the hotel's behavior. This speaks volumes about the poor service and lack of customer orientation at the Migjorn Hotel. Furthermore, the room was in a run-down condition, with a rusted refrigerator, a broken lamp, and a second bedroom barely larger than a storage room. Additionally, all the rooms had an unpleasant smell coming from the air conditioning.
I strongly advise against choosing this hotel. There are certainly better options in the area that offer a more pleasant and stress-free stay. It's all show and...
Read moreSo Initially we were booked into a 2 bed apartment which had no storage space for clothes and was dirty with hairs all over the floor, so we upgraded to the resident suite. We had to carry our own suitcases to the next suite up the stairs in the heat as there was no lift and no one to help us. ||The suite has curtains that don’t block the sunlight out , Multiple windows that don’t open for air. further more there is no privacy between the two rooms as there is no door on the main bedroom. It felt like I had to make a decision between storage space or privacy when picking which apartment was suitable . The dining table has a light feature that prohibits you from eating at the table as it hits your head. ||The sheets were never change not once even though they were left on the floor to highlight the fact that we wanted them changed, instead the sheets the dirty sheets were folded up and put on the shelves. The floors were dirty , the resident suit was not properly cleaned in our 1 week stay , our towels weren’t replaced and neither was our bedding. It’s was disgusting. ||With all due respect I know what luxury is and this wasn’t it. I had a terrible stay and ultimately I paid a significant amount of money to feel like I was...
