When we arrived, the hotel looked beautiful. The reception and pool area have the ideal vacation aesthetic. Very Insta-worthy.
HOWEVER: Our room (junior suite, limited photos online when booking) was like a bad motel.
The bathroom: It is a tiled room with a freestanding toilet, a pedestal sink with zero counter space, and an open shower room with no curtain or edge. It's a locker room. Zero place for your belongings. Zero shelves. We used an ironing board all three days in the bathroom as a makeshift shelf since there was no counter space. We walked in and immediately saw that the door handle to the bathroom was broken. The door to the bathroom is a sliding barn door that has no seal. Essentially, your bathroom and bedroom are ALWAYS connected. There is also no lock on the bathroom door. The toilet was also broken and did not flush. We had to ask the front desk for a room change and they said no, it's fully booked and they're sending a technician. He fixed the toilet to allow for flushing but the water sounds like it is running 24/7 and we can hear it as we sleep. Because the shower has no ledge or curtain, the entire bathroom floor would flood in the first few minutes when someone showered. It was so bad that that water would travel out of the bathroom into the hallway of the room.
The room: We noticed there was a sprite can on the floor before we got there and we purposely left it there and saw it was never cleaned up during our entire stay. The tv screen mirroring did not work, and when we looked closer, we realized it had no internet connection, no cable, and a bare wire hung from the back of the TV showing exposed electrical wiring. The room had no tissue boxes at all. The safe didn't have any instructions on how to set up so we had to get instructions from the front desk. The turn down service was bare minimum, they pretty much re-made the beds and changed the towels only if they were on the floor. The sheets weren't changed at all and the dirty dishes were left in the room from the previous day.
The room was horrible and there was no way of knowing because they don't show those pictures online at booking. Pay for a better room if you need to stay here.
The service from the individual staff members at the pool, bar, and reception was great. Everyone was kind and attentive, especially Belem, she was a gem. We had such high expectations for our stay at Paradiso Ibiza and I'm shocked that they would put anyone in the room we were in. For the price, I'd stay...
Read moreSadly I am writing this review because of the attitude of the reception staff. Their attitude was so rude and offensive, that for me personally, it has put me off wanting to stay at this hotel in the future.
Whilst on our family holiday in Saint Josep Ibiza this week, we saw this hotel. It looked stunning. The architecture leans heavily on Art Deco and art work could be seen from the street hung upon the walls. They advertised opportunities of spending a night for free in a glass room in reception. As lovers and practitioners of contemporary art, we were curious by their mission statement boasting of "activist" approaches to art and culture. Late on Tuesday 11th July we wanted to find out more about the hotel, its concepts and rates. We wanted to view the art more closely and ask more about its history, booking details and facilities and commission processes. The glass hotel room was unoccupied and staff were talking to other guests/clients. Our party consisted of two small families with one toddler and a young child. We assessed that there was nothing inappropriate for our children and walked though. After about a minute we were rudely told that children were not permitted and were asked to leave. Neither ourselves or our children were disruptive. We did not make a scene and left as asked.
I found this deeply disappointing. They were blunt, rude and clearly struggled with good customer care. The staff did not have a dialogue with us - did not ask if we had a booking, did not enquire if any of the adults were interested in staying in the hotel and did not give information as an alternative to us being there with our children. They were unprofessional in ways that shot themselves in the foot.
In looking at the reviews of the hotel, it is clear that others have raised concerns about customer care. It's deeply unfortunate that they chose to taint their classic, open minded, activist, creative image by the attitude of reception staff.
For the attention of management: the receptionist was female on this evening and I would suggest that training be provided in communicating with clients/customers. They need to be trained to understand that, more so than other hotels (due to the compelling architecture and status as an art hotel) reception staff need to be receptive to new guests - these guests may be enquiring to book for future dates. Customer service clearly is an ongoing issue which should be addressed...
Read moreAll style with absolutely no substance at all, and grossly over-priced.
The hotel is nice, aesthetically but it really lacks in most other areas in this apparently 4 star hotel. The room almost felt unfinished/empty. There were absolutely NO amenities at all - no water (even upon arrival, or to buy in the fridge, which was empty), no tissues, no tea/coffee, no glasses, no drawers, - meaning you had to live out of your bag for the duration of your stay, other than one rail and one bench to put your stuff on. Other than the actual decor it very much felt like hostel living to be honest. Empty and no-frills.
They give you 1 face and 1 body towel only, and they are not a suitable size. The shower pressure is just terrible. Our bed sheets had a cigarette burn on and we asked housekeeping to change it which they never did. The duvet was full of stains. Housekeeping also didn’t clear out the empty water bottles from the room so we came back at the end of our days with our trash still in our room (???). Each and every day our room door stopped recognising our key card so we had to go back down each time to get a new one which was VERY tiring. There is no sound proofing from the hallway - it can be really noisy at night.
The pool area is lovely - no one can argue with that and so it should be for the price, and the staff around the pool and bar were lovely too. But after paying 200+ EUR each night, they offer day passes to the pool so they come to have their photo taken all day and that also gets very tiring having to swim around vein people having full on photo shoots each and every day.
This 3 star hotel with an extra star for the decor, but when it comes down to it, the hotel lacks SO much substance it was actually very disappointing. Although, if all you care about is living your life through social media and having no regard for other guests, then you will feel right at home.
I would categorically never stay here again with the prices they charge for...
