Restaurant Minimal — Restaurant in Sant Josep de sa Talaia

Waitress seemed quite uninterested in our table, seemed to not take our order very quickly or even bother to write it down. Waited probably more then half an hour for the one starter we ordered to arrive which was mediocre at best.

I ordered the barbecue burger which barely tasted of barbecue sauce at all and the burger was incredibly greasy as though i could’ve bought it at any quick takeaway place in the area. My friends ordered the pork shoulder cut and the pulled pork pizza however the pork shoulder was rather tasteless and incredibly bland looking! The pizza seemed to be okay however i didn’t taste it so i’m not sure.

Our food finally arrived after nearly 40 minutes of wasting and although the place was fairly busy 40 minutes was absolutely ridiculous and furthermore they brought out 2 dishes and then we had to wait a further 10 minutes for the pizza to be brought out!

The waiter seemed quite bored and not interested with us however with other spanish guests they seemed to be friendly so not sure if it’s just because we were english or what but the family next to us who were also english eventually finished there meal and whilst cleaning up the table i heard the waiter make some rude remark about the guests

Most dishes cost around €14.00 onwards rarely exceeding €30.00 so the price would have been good if it had not been for the poor quality of the food served. Save your money for elsewhere!

Overall the food is bland and greasy, serving times are long and waiting staff are not very nice however the restaurant is good looking and seating allows you to sit next to the main road where many people walk along giving the restaurant a lively feel and decor is nice yet the signage around the restaurant is similar to cheap takeaway places with laminated place mats which should’ve been an instant giveaway that this place was not as good...

We did eat from the kitchen from this restaurant, but whilst having the meal both my wife and I saw the BBQ chef's food hygiene was both lazy and dangerous.

As we ate our meal we saw the BBQ chef bring two plates of raw food, mainly chicken, but also steaks and sausages from the kitchen. She proceeded to cook this on the BBQ, and then put the cooked food back on the same plate. This practice could cause potentially dangerous bacterial cross contamination of the cooked food. This food was then served to customers in the restaurant.

My wife is a professionally trained chef, and I have worked on environmental work. My wife notified the staff at the time and they advised us that the BBQ chef had not been thinking when she was doing this cooking. That said had this been observed in the UK by local environmental health the restaurant would be closed.

If you are going to eat here I would avoid any of the BBQ food. To be honest if we had seen this before we got our food we would have left. I can only hope that the hygiene standards in the main kitchen are a great...

If I could give less than one star I would. Ordered food asked to double check as Spanish waiter but they walked away. When got food one of our friends was wrong waited even longer for their food even though had waited 30 minutes for drinks as it was and that was after ordering which took 20 minutes but we could see was busy so accepted that. When one friends orders was wrong asked for another then asked if could have reduced bill then owner took friends meal away whilst she was eating could not believe how rude this person was and upon paying bill as was so embarrassed we found out this was owner and she blamed waitress's for not knowing English.
