My family and I came into the hotel tired after our Camino. All the staff don't speak any English, so it was chaos. The website showed a cheaper price than what they asked for upon arrival. The pictures on the website were misleading and turned out to be a pension. Though we didn't eat in the restaurant, there were a lot of flies flying around, and everything seemed dirty. The food being served to the customers seems stale. We were then directed to our room, which happens to be on the 4th floor (top floor). We had to drag our luggage up four stories because there was no lift. Once we reached our room, we found out that it was in the attic with no AC and that it was blazing hot outside. We were forced to open the windows after hearing a lot of noise coming from outside. We asked the staff about why there wasn't any AC; one said it was because it was broken, and the other said the AC is to be only turned on at a specific time. This hotel is overly dim with minimal light, and the majority of electronics don't turn on. The facilities were really bad and dusty. One of the bed has stains on blood which was disgusting. The toilets have 1 light and it was for the mirror, so it was very dark. There was also a heater in the toilet (?). The price of this hotel was not worth it at all, mainly because of how close it was to the cathedral. After reading some other reviews, we decided to leave, and they refunded us half of what we paid for. It was a waste of time, money and energy. HIGHLY NOT...
Read moreIn room 101 on the 21/9/18, after being itchy in bed, we found many mature bed bugs in all 4 beds at 2am. They were bigger than apple seeds (so mature bed bugs - at least 10 months old) and full of fresh blood when squashed. We phoned the emergency phone number to find the person didn’t speak English and was in another city. Through an interpreter he advised us to talk to reception in the morning. The 4 of us had to sit up all night in chairs in the room, having no sleep at all. My daughter reacted very badly and was covered in blistered, itchy lesions even on her face for the next 2 weeks. She had to take antihistamines and Panadol to be able to sleep at night and try not to get them infected. The receptionist was sympathetic in the morning and promised a refund of €660 for the 4 beds for 2 nights, but that hasn’t happened. We have emailed management many times but have not had a reply. I worry that they haven’t treated the room so other people are being exposed. The bed bugs have been there a long time and there was a big nest of them in the face brick wall. When we got home, we had to wash everything in hot water then tumble dry everything, even our back packs. Other things like books, presents, etc we wiped down with 90% alcohol from the chemist. I still have things sealed in glad bags that I don’t know how to clean eg...
Read moreMixed views of this hotel. We arrived tired and laden down with our bikes and bags having just done the Camino. Staff were initially quite rude and told us no bikes. Eventually a younger staff member explained that we could take our bikes to post office for storage. They didn't offer to hold our luggage so we walked with everything to PO. Came back and was shocked to see room price had gone up £134. We had a very small room overlooking the front. Very clean but compact. No air con, Windows out on to main walkway so very noisy but once shutters down kept out noise. Toiletries is a bar of soap and a sachet of shower gel not enough for even one shower. No tea or coffee making facilities. Bar below but it was quiet by about 10pm. Alot of money for what we got but it is very central- 2 mins from cathedral. Staff could be...
