We were there 16 - 23 September. The whole place looked ok but we had serious reservations about the cleanliness. It never occurred to me to check the floor on arrival so I don't know if it was clean but very much doubt that it was. Throughout our week, the floor was very dusty & gritty. I rather doubt that we would have brought that much into the apartment, hence wondering if the place had been vacuumed prior to our arrival. The island is volcanic which accounts for the grit & dust but it was never vacuumed during our stay. I tended to walk around in my bare feet & had to brush the soles of my feet off when I put my outdoor footwear on or climbed into bed to ensure that I didn't bring the dust & grit into the bed. Also, our apartment was missed twice, once on the Wednesday & again on the Friday - Not impressed. I can walk around our home (mainly hard floors) in bare feet & know that I won't find any dust or grit on the soles of my feet. A doormat might be a good place to start as you walk in from the outside straight onto the tiled floor - nowhere to wipe your feet.
The food was ok but nothing exceptional. Elements of the menu were repeated throughout the week so quite a restrictive menu really. We chose All In which, on reflection, was a mistake on our part. if you have small children or intend to relax beside the pool all day then that is fine. However, you feel that you want to get value for money so going All In tends to stop you seeking meals outside the complex. There are plenty of places to eat in Puerto del Carmen & it's all reasonably priced so think hard about the All In as you might be doing yourself a disservice.
On the whole, a good holiday although the accommodation could be kept somewhat cleaner, hence the three stars only. We would go back if we could be reassured that the room would be kept cleaner (& not...
Read moreThe best thing I can say about the place is the location is great despite the noise due to the proximity to the airport. Not far from the beach or bars & restaurants. I'd have liked to see more variety in the foods available for the all inclusive. It didn't seem like there was much change from lunch and dinner. Rooms we're nice and spacious (I say that as someone who had one to himself) the beds were hard and difficult to sleep on but I'm not sure I'm the kind of person who'll ever have a good night's sleep in any hotel bed (anyone who wants to get me a room in an expensive hotel to test that theory is welcome to lol) the room didn't have a bath, and the hot water ran out pretty quickly, so showers were short. The only other all inclusive I've stayed at had drought beer that you could self-serve at, while you could do that with coffee and juice at the Guacimeta, you had to wait for a server to give serve you a beer or soft drink. I'd have really appreciated the ability to just get up and get it myself. Overall not a bad place, I'm happy with the amount I paid for my stay and I wouldn't mind doing it again. If you can find a holiday at this place for a similar price (£300 for 4 night stay and flight) I'd call it a good deal.
Just a thing about the island, the flies around there were determined to land on your skin and stay there. Swat them away, and they'll land on a different part of your skin and I cannot count how many times they flew into my ear, which was UNBELIEVABLY ANNOYING so I suggest travellers bring on ear headphones...
Read moreStayed here last January. My partner and I were in a lower floor road facing apartment. The one we had was incindetally owned by the complex president apparently.
We have stayed on the island many times. I've never had the misfortune to be staying in a worse environment. Cheap and cheerful this was not.
Matress in room below par and springs coming through. These were replaced with second hand with just as bad springs coming through
Bedroom curtain one for the whole window. The hidden dirt in the apartment was ridiculous. Had to mop the floors ourselves on arrival. Black mold and damp in the bedroom. Sofa bed in sitting room so dilapitaed that the owner of the apartment refused to sit on it. Paid for the nights we stayed and also a forty euro cleaning bill. Although one might wonder what that's for.
If I could remove the one star I happily would. For future travelers to this complex. I've read reviews of fantastic apartments here and people having wonderful holidays. This unfortunately is not the one I would choose and I certainly would not recommend it.
We stayed here for five nights of a 12 night holiday. I am quite sad that the experience of this apartment and face to face dealing with the individual who owns it has jaded my love...
