O´Sheas Irish Restaurant — Restaurant in Tías

Really disappointed with the service. Me and my friend were really excited to try the food on the menu, only when the service was none apparent. As we walked in, we sat on a table which was still messy, which was fine but was expecting someone to come and clear the glasses and plates eventually. We sat and waited about 20 minutes and nobody even acknowledged us. I had to go to find somebody to ask for a menu, the lady come over to the table and threw the menus on the table, clearly seeing the past customers glasses and plates and chose to ignore it. About 30 minutes in, we had the menus and still a messy table. Now I can appreciate if they were busy, but new customers were coming in and sitting down, and instantly getting welcomed with a menu, this happened with about 3 other sets of customers, welcomed with a menu and their table getting cleaned. It honestly felt so personal that we were getting ignored. We were sat right in the middle of the restaurant and not tucked away. We decided on the food we wanted(still not been asked if we’d like a drink), but again, the customers who came in 20 minutes after us, had been served a drink and were ordering their food. By this time it was very clear we were purposely getting ignored and decided to walk off and go to the restaurant next door, which provided fantastic service. Im not the one for bad reviews but we felt this was so personal towards us and for what reason??? We were super friendly even when asking for the menus we hadn’t been given. After the last 2 years of not being able to get a reservation in O'SHEA we a group of 11 were only delighted to be seated. The girl came over very airy fairy to take our order of drinks and arrived back then to take our food order(up to this point all was good ), we had been given 2 different food menus 1 was the special menu for just under €20 and the 2nd was your standard menu. The girl dark hair ,tattoos down her right arm and Irish was more interest on what was going on around her rather than engaging with our orders. I asked if the the special 3 course meal was still available and she said no I was told its not available anymore, I replied OK but wondered why we had been given the menu, we ordered fish and potato skins and various other meals, my husband ordered a steak and called the girl back a second time to confirm it was not the beef medallions to which she replied no I know it's fillet. When the man (bald) brought out our potato skins and his words were "of the special menu" we were confused as she had said it wasn't available. Confused at this stage my husband then order came out as 3 little medallions of beef on his plate and not the beef fillet. We were never asked if we wanted to order any more drink, as the girl was more interested in being anywhere else but there. Really bad experience after waiting so long to get back there, staff not great, and the hardest part was leaving without giving a tip, as with the bad service, not returning for a second drinks order and failing to listen to...

Had breakfast here and it was good the egg was a little under done for me but not worth mentioning. Over all the food was good. Now dinner was a different story from service to food very disappointing service similar to breakfast felt very rushed (though not more than half full) but felt like you should hurry up!! Menu's throw at us by an abrupt waitress. When the food arrived one meal was delayed (chicken) though staff were convinced it was steak! (3 of them 🙄) it eventually arrived. I ordered a side of veg it resembled a baby bowl mash cabbage very wet, one slice of carrot and one very small florett of brocoli. (They did take this off the bill as I said I was disappointed) a cocktail was ordered and we were told the didn't have one of the ingredients to make it but it ended up on the bill 🤔. Medium end restaurant felt the with the amount of mistakes a manager should have approached? Food, well my steak was tasteless and tough. Over all very disappointing. Given the beautiful location it could be something special. One of the waitress was lovely...
