New update 17/01/2025.

Amazing Dinner Experience!

We’ve visited La Brisa a few times for breakfast and decided to try it for dinner tonight—and we were not disappointed! If I could, I’d give it a thousand likes. The food was absolutely amazing.

I had the wok chicken with rice, while my husband enjoyed the chicken stroganoff with rice and chips. Both meals were perfectly cooked, well-seasoned, and incredibly delicious. We started with garlic bread and were pleasantly surprised to receive two complimentary croquettes. To top it off, we were treated to complimentary Island rum after our meal, which was such a lovely touch.

The atmosphere was fantastic, and the staff were warm, attentive, and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and can’t recommend this place enough. A must-visit for anyone looking for great food and excellent service!

We had a full English Breakfast here on Saturday lunch time when we arrived on the island. The atmosphere was nice, the food was lovely, especially the toast, it was just the way I liked it. The restaurant was busy at lunch time when we visited. We sat outside, eating, chatting and just watching the world go by. Simple...

This used to be our favourite restaurant in Matagorda but having visited several times recently it is going downhill fast. The food was extremely basic and, the evening staff downright rude especially, the waiter who appeared to be more senior. Long gone are the days when you were greeted with a smile and, made to think your custom was important (and we have given them plenty of custom over the years) but just not getting that now. Appears to have had a complete change of staff although the owner is still the same. An example of the rude staff - clearly we were not leaving the restaurant quick enough one evening near to closing time when the waiter mentioned earlier decided to tell us it was time to go by kicking a chair over at our back causing me great alarm. We will not spend another Euro in this place and, I truly hope the owner read this as he will continue to lose customers if his staff are not welcoming and treat the customers...

The waiter came with a pad and pen told us he didn’t speak English so we pointed to food on the menu that we wanted. Garlic bread for starters x3, meat paella for two and a lasagne. He looked but didn’t write anything down. He then came back asking about chicken. The food did eventually turn up. The lasagne was very wet. No garlic bread. We mentioned it one turned up ten minutes later. The other two another ten minutes later. It was garlic bread with a slice of cheese on top, not melted. Crepes and ice cream ordered. The crepe turned up but no ice cream. That turned up after we reminded them by then the crepe had been eaten. Ice cream presented with a fork! Ice cream isn’t the easiest food to eat without a spoon. No staff in sight to get a spoon. The paella was really good. Everything else food wise and service was below our expectations for the cost...

Great place we did not have food only drinks. We visited on a Friday evening and they had live entertainment a person singing & playing the guitar. They were very good. Service was a little slow and the staff seem to be all over the place as the tables are spread out and I noticed people weren’t getting noticed when they sat at tables. There needs to be more staff possibly for the busy evenings ie. Fridays & Saturdays especially if they have live entertainment on.
