City Garden B&B — Hotel in Valencia

I had very mixed feelings about this B&B…||It’s in a great location and I would definitely return to the neighbourhood if staying in Valencia again. There are loads of bars and restaurants around and it is only about 15 mins walk into the city centre. ||The B&B is on the first floor of an apartment building (there’s a lift) - entrance is clean and well lit. Prior to arrival we got instructions on how gain access to the B&B which were perfectly clear. The room we had had plenty of storage space and had an ample sized bathroom (with a hairdryer). Bed was comfy and we slept well.||My main gripe is that it didn’t really feel like a B&B in that we never clamped our eyes on the owners that have been referred to below. Rather there were a number of different staff who appeared in the mornings to lay out breakfast and provide a room cleaning service. Some staff served you breakfast, some didn’t. Some staff cleaned the rooms, some didn’t (despite putting the please clean our room sign on the door). Some staff left out cups so the you could have a cuppa in the afternoon, some didn’t. It all felt a bit haphazard and I wonder if it has been taken over by new owners? Searching the common areas for replacement toilet paper is not the end of the world but not really something that should happen in a B&B at 100 euros plus a night!||All in all it’s an okay B&B but I would compare it with other properties in the area...

Would not recommend this accommodation. It is advertised as a B&B but it’s an apartment where they charge you €7 PP Per day for a very basic breakfast just so you can use the kitchen facilities. The breakfast was packaged pastries, watered down orange juice and some over ripe fruit. ||The cleaner arrived at 8am and stayed until 1pm which made hanging in the communal area very uncomfortable and felt like you could not relax in the space||We were constantly being watched by neighbours in the garden as the garden is overlooked by the flats above which again made it very uncomfortable to use this space ||There is an Awful smell in and around the property ||Host was uncontactable for a large proportion of our stay very unfriendly and unwelcoming ||We had hired the place out entirely but they had people checking in before...

This accommodation is neither a hotel or an apartment. It lacks the service you would expect from a hotel, but it also doesn’t offer the privacy of an apartment. We hired the entire apartment but still had to pay £7 each a day to basically have access to a fridge and coffee machine and a lady put juice out for us. The cleaner/breakfast host spoke no English and arrived at 8am every morning waking us up. We also had other guests arrive before we had checked out of the apartment that we had hired in its entirety. The place had a very weird atmosphere and a very bad smell. The terrace area also had pigeons nesting. When we needed our host they failed to reply to us - it took them 12 hours to return our calls. Do not risk your holiday by staying with poorly run...
