I visited this bar during the final day of fallas with my Valencian girlfriend and my parents who run a successful and busy coffee shop in England ,we had been walking all day and we wanted to sit to rest and recuperate our energy with a nice cup of coffee. When we walked in there were many free tables to choose from and we sat down at a table by the window, we sat and noticed that none of the staff acknowledged our entrance - 10 minutes passed - the staff were chatting to each other, im sure they were having a very interesting conversation. When they did stop one of the waitresses came over, “service with a frown” - the motto of all great catering businesses. We made a very simple order , 4 coffees. 5 mins later….waiting…then another big group arrives, they greeted them with a similar silence they greeted us. Then a waitress came to our table and grabbed the menu which was made of paper and had a QR code, she screwed up the menu…I guess that’s her way of telling us they don’t do food anymore? But that’s ok, we only had a simple order 4 nice hot coffees. 5 mins later , we were getting thirsty but patient, the other group on the table not as patient as us, they left because no one acknowledged them. 5 mins later , the coffees arrived!!! It took 15 mins and we noticed for 10 mins the coffee was sat going cold on the coffee machine, they poured in mildly warm milk, and the result was like a warm glass of milk you would give to a baby…it didnt take us long to drink it as it wasn’t hot. And the bar had emptied at this point , maybe that was their plan?! Then we asked for the bill, how quick! I’ve never seen a bill arrive so quick! Excellent service! So if you are walking through Valencia and fancy a cold glass of milk with a hint of coffee, go here I’d really...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Doña Petrona restaurant in Valencia. I was very impressed with the food, service, and atmosphere. So much so we went twice.
The restaurant is located in the heart of the Russafa district, a trendy and vibrant area of Valencia. The interior is bright and modern, with a large terrace that is perfect for al fresco dining.
The menu features a variety of Spanish and Argentinian dishes, all of which are made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. I started with the Argentinian empanadas, which were perfectly flaky and filled with delicious meat and vegetables. For my main course, I had the veal milanese, which was cooked to perfection and served with a delicious sauce. I also tried the eggs stuffed with tuna, which were a unique and flavorful dish.
The service at Doña Petrona was excellent. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. He made excellent recommendations and helped us choose the perfect wines to accompany our meal.
Overall, I had a wonderful dining experience at Doña Petrona. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was inviting. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone...
Read moreI went to this restaurant for our last dinner in Valencia with my boyfriend. The food was so good, we took tapas menu for 19€ per person of a minimum of 2 person for this menu. The beginning of the menu was good but the ending was less good in term of food but also of service. We waited so long for our last snacks and dessert. The moment when we had to pay , I gave 90 cents with coins of 1,2,5 cents (euro) and the waiter changed his face and became so cold with us, like it’s normal to pay with « little coins » it’s money after all !! And I have to say that there was a big cockroach in the terrace so it was no pleasant to eat with this cockroach in front of us. In conclusion , the food was good but the service less good. I do not recommend totally...
