My friends and I recently stayed at Heritage Boutique in Kandy. Our travel agent selected this hotel for us, and we embarked on our stay without any prior research.||The location of this hotel is a surprise! Situated right next to the road, the bedroom doors lead out onto an open corridor, offering a unique and somewhat unconventional experience. There is no traditional reception lobby, and the hotel is enclosed by a low white fence with a modest gate. The arrangement of the four bedrooms within the hotel, along with the adjacent restaurant, is thoughtfully planned, preserving the charm of a one-storey white-washed conservation building.||The four rooms were named King, Queen, Princess and Prince. Our friends stayed in the King Room, which is spacious with a sitting area. The four-poster bed complemented the room's décor. The bathroom was clean and had a good-size shower. We opted for the Prince Room, which was comfortable despite lacking a dedicated sitting area. However, this room doesn’t have any windows or natural lighting, which may be a problem for long-term stay. Every room has ample furniture and a dressing area with wardrobe and dressing table.||The hotel's proximity to the Tooth Relic Temple and the convenience of walking to the city center made exploring Kandy an absolute ease. There were plenty of options for food and shopping nearby. However, being close to the Temple also meant that the temple drums could be heard from early morning. You would need a pair of earplugs for uninterrupted sleep.||Dining at the thoughtfully designed Oak Ray restaurant, which is part of the hotel, was a mixed experience. Since our accommodation package included both dinner and breakfast, we found the food selection to be somewhat limited. In retrospect, opting for the full-board package with predetermined meals might not have been the best decision; retaining the freedom to curate our own dishes would have yielded more favorable results. Nevertheless, the meals were decent, complemented by the enthusiastic service of a fervent and spirited young Server (whose name, unfortunately eludes me, much to my regret).||Heritage Boutique is a good choice if you're seeking a comfortable stay in an excellent town location. The hotel's layout and thoughtful design, combined with its close proximity to key attractions and the city center, make it a great option for those who value convenience and simple comfort. Just remember to pack your earplugs if you're a...

There are dried blowflies on the bed
There are moisture stains and mold spots on the walls, and the chair.
The sheets under the quilt are very wrinkled, and they don't look like they have just been washed.
The carpet was dirty and three employees and the electrician all walked from the street, entered the house with their shoes on and stepped on the carpet.
The air conditioner in Prince's room didn't work at night. After a long call, an employee came and tried with the remote control for a long time, but it didn't solve the problem. I spent a very hot night with the door closed.
The tiles in the bathroom are white, and a circle of yellow stains on the floor is clearly visible.
we made a reservation for breakfast at nine o'clock, but the restaurant staff didn't open until nine o'clock, so we checked out without...
Read moreWe were in the King Room and it was huge! Three-piece sofa suite, massive bed, ante-room before the shower room. Everything was very comfortable. You're right in the middle of the main old part of the city but it wasn't noisy at all, the road outside is very quiet and is not a main thoroughfare at all, just the usual early morning temple noises. Breakfast was okay, make sure you specify whether you want the western breakfast or the Sri Lankan breakfast options, you have to do this the night before as they won't have the option for you in the morning if they haven't prepared. |Great location for visiting the Tooth...
