The Moment Hotel in Malmo is a decent budget accommodation option for a short stay. The location of the hotel is very convenient as it is close to the train station. The entrance and reception area are clean and simple, and the staff are friendly during check-in. However, the issues start to appear as soon as you enter the room.
My partner and I noticed a stuffy smell in the room and upon investigation, we discovered that the radiator was filled with cigarettes, dirt, and grime, which was ventilating into the room and causing breathing issues for my partner who has asthma. After bringing this to the attention of the hotel staff, they moved us to one of their recently renovated rooms.
It's worth noting that only half of the hotel has been recently renovated, while the other half was last updated ten years ago. We found that the newer rooms were much more comfortable than the older ones, and we weren't the only ones to make this observation. The staff assured us that all rooms are up to the same standard, but it seems that this isn't the case.
Additionally, during our stay, we found that there were no hot food options available during breakfast, which was disappointing. Furthermore, we also noticed some mould present on some of the food items, which was concerning. While the staff was quick to remove the affected items when we pointed it out to them, this was definitely a negative aspect of our experience.
Although the staff were friendly and accommodating, the breakfasts were disappointing, and the hotel feels more like a hostel than a hotel. It's suitable for a night or two, but not for an extended stay. Overall, while The Moment Hotel may be an affordable option for a short stay, the issues we encountered with the room and breakfast would make us hesitant to recommend it to others.
While The Moment Hotel may have its moments of convenience and affordability, the issues with the room and breakfast left us feeling a bit underwhelmed. We hope the hotel can 'momentarily' pause and address these concerns to provide a better experience for...

Hotel Moment in Malmö has two positive aspects: it is clean and very well located, ideal for getting around the city center.
However, the room I stayed in was extremely small. The bed is literally wedged between two walls, making it hard to move around. There are no chairs or table, just a small, low wooden bench. There is no closet, only a tiny area with a few hooks, which is definitely not enough for two people. There’s no proper space to store or hang your clothes, so you end up using the bench or the windowsill for your belongings.
The bathroom is even more uncomfortable. The sink has no surface to place your toiletries, which makes daily use very inconvenient. The shower is tiny, with no proper separation, so the entire floor gets wet every time you use it. The space is so tight that showering becomes difficult, with the curtain constantly sticking to you.
The Wi-Fi is slow, which makes working or even basic browsing frustrating.
As for the breakfast, it includes fruits, a variety of bread, cereals, cheeses, some types of ham, tomatoes, cucumbers, and pickles. They also offer ginger shots and coffee from a machine (which tastes good). However, the juices are not tasty, and only hard-boiled eggs are available—no other types of eggs are prepared, which is a downside. Both the cheese and ham selection could be better. Overall, the breakfast is acceptable but not remarkable—I’d rate it 3 out of 5.
In summary, while I appreciate the cleanliness and the location, the lack of comfort in the room and bathroom, poor Wi-Fi, insufficient storage space, and a limited breakfast experience mean that I would not choose this...
Read moreStayed 5 nights in April, during a rare sunny spell in Malmö. Arrived late by train on a Sunday night so was pleased to see the hotel just across the street and canal from Centralstation. Top marks for location!||I had a double room on the 5th floor at the back, with "views" of the hotel's inner courtyard at the back, hence v quiet. Room was fine for me - but maybe a struggle for couples as bathroom space especially limited. No wardrobes or drawers for storage, just a clothes rail with approx 6 hangers, which was fine for a short break. Multi-channel TV. One bedside cabinet and a few sockets for charging.||Good breakfast daily (6.30-9.30 weekdays) in a nice light Ikea-esque room on the 2nd floor. Usual continental fare, with some cereals and milk, a coffee machine, concentrated juices (not fresh, unfortunately), and bread/rolls with cheese and ham, boiled eggs, liver patê, toms, cucumber and gherkins. Tiny croissants and jam. Fine to set you up for a day's walk etc. The bread counter could be extended, though, as it can be very busy with queues some mornings... ||Another big plus was the fact you could help yourself to the coffee machine in the breakfast room all day as no kettle in your room.||As I said, location is key - 5 minutes walk to touristy Lilla Torg with coffee shops, bars and restaurants, beautiful church of Sankt Petri Kyrka - also a nearby Lidl for handy provisions. 10 mins walk to some wonderful parks (Kungsparken) and a lovely peaceful cemetery full of trees and bluebells nr Gustav Adolfs torg.||Courteous helpful reception staff too. Tak &...
