Never again! You have to sit literally just 5 cm away from your neighbors on both sides, which makes it feel very claustrophobic. It's not ideal for dating or a nice occasion, because you feel self-conscious the whole time you're dining here.
The food was just okay—extremely old-school French or Swedish cuisine with lots of butter. If you imagine a poorly prepared main dish floating in a sea of butter, that’s exactly what it was like. If you want to risk a heart attack or high cholesterol, this is the place for you.
The meals here are all too expensive. Three white asparagus and a small portion of not-so-expensive red fish roe cost 260 SEK ($25). A tiny portion of shrimp covered with some kind of mayonnaise sauce, served with two pieces of toasted Wonder bread, was 235 SEK ($23). These were all starters. Main courses were equally expensive and poorly done (overcooked fish and poorly prepared dishes).
So, a two-course meal with a bottle of red wine for two people cost 1670 SEK ($160). This place is popular only because it's listed in the Michelin guide. But remember, it doesn’t even have a star rating, yet they still charge this much for such claustrophobic...
Read moreI came here for the very first time with my husband. We went to celebrate his birthday. It was a Sunday for lunch at 1:00. The doors were closed and the staff waited until the exact time of the opening hours to open the door. There was a line outside of people who had made reservations. We had also booked a table. We got seated and then were given the menu’s. There was a walk in but the turned them away so I guess making a reservation it the safest option to ensure you get a table. We were given complimentary bread but it was a bit sad. It was served in a medium sized plate and we were given one bread each and one hard bread each. It would have been nice to have some more bread with our meal. They also had 2 sizes of water jugs. They gave us the small one since we were two people but it would have been nice for them to give us the bigger one as we had to ask them to refill the water a few times. I ordered the perch. It was a bit salty for my taste. My husband ordered the veal schnitzel. He said that it was good. The atmosphere of the place is cozy. The wall have old pictures on them. I heard this restaurant was one of the oldest in Malmö. It was...
Read moreWe were in Malmö for a few hours during a trip to neighbouring Denmark and we wanted to enjoy some local cuisine close to the station for our return train back to Copenhagen. A stunning bistro, just a few minutes walk from Malmö Central station, we visited without a reservation but were warmly greeted and sat at the bar. The wine list was extensive and had we been staying for longer we would have enjoyed a few glasses but instead opted for a locally brewed beer. The menu featured a wide array of dishes but we came for one thing; Köttbulle (meatballs) served in a cream sauce with velvet mashed potatoes, pickled cucumber and lingonberries. The dish was perfect and we would make the trip again just for this alone. Desert was a delicious and delicate clafoutis and we shared some of the pistachio and almond cake. It was sublime. The service, the food and the atmosphere were...
