Very stylish hotel according the pictures shown. Very nice bar (lobby was closed due to Corona), very clean spa and rooms. However, one has to like the concept of an in-mall hotel that wants to be four star. We would rather rate it with three stars. Too much went wrong and it becomes obvious that the owner/shareholders are saving money they would rather spend on additional personal and other things:
Friendlyness: Welcome at the reception somewhat poor. Corona-handling: Rather than opening more restaurants (they actually have) they do shifts in one restaurant. As a hotel guest, you should expect that it won't be a problem to get food at different times. Unfortunately, there was only one time slot at 6:15pm available, which is not acceptable. We ate from the short bar menue, which brings me to the next point. Service and price bar: If you sit down as a hotel guest in the bar, you expect some attention or at least a sign that they've seen you in the first few minutes, which was not the case, even when they had not much people there. We went there for some food which was not accessible in the restaurant. Secondly, when you request for regular fries with the Burger, and they still bring you the sweet fries you explicitly did not order, take back the whole menue and excuse properly rather than saying 'i'm new here'. Additionally, if you pay 34 Swiss for a Burger, you expect this to be above average, which is not the case at all (meat and sides). Bar service: Only one person for all guests there. How long does it take to shake a nice Negroni, not as short as it took here i can tell. Broken glasses: No fresh pressed juices is not yet a problem for a four star, the selection was good. However, my girl and I both had broken glasses and after drinking there was glass spun off on my plate. Dinner Deli Service: Ordering a tatar, one should assume that butter, cuttlery, tabasco and salt is on the table with or before the meal, especially when you ask for it upfront. And, if you drink wine by the glass, you should expect the glass to remain on the table at least until it is empty, or even beyond. Service personal that does take clients glasses without asking is just poorly educated or well underpaid. There were certain smaller things which did not make us very happy here, especially when it is Corona and you could expect service to take care of the guests still coming.
One should be aware that you are paying the expenses they obviously had for building this special hotel and interior, but it becomes very clear that they are saving money now after completion.
Certainly, there are positives too, but for us,...
Read moreThe hide flims hotel is one of those places where you in retroperspective ask yourself „what was again the reason why I booked this hotel?“ and then remind yourself that you planned on enjoying a nice and relaxing weekend but you come out of this experience feeling more stressed than to begin with...||Breaking down our experience:|The positive (+):|+ clean spa area|+ clean rooms||The negative (-):|Everything else, particularly the service!|- we had each booked a massage prior to arrival. Even before our arrival we had to call the hotel 3(!) different times to confirm our booking for the massage as they were too incompetent to perform a simple task as booking an appointment. Upon arrival we were told that the time slots we booked were not available and the type of massage we wanted wasn‘t either, but we could go for a more expensive massage for a shorter period of time. When we confronted the staff that this is not what we agreed on, the girl at the desk gave us a snappy answer and said sth. along the line of that we should take it or leave it. As we were not happy with that we demanded the staff to come up with a better solution and we had a whole bunch of back and forth for the entire rest of the day which was anything but relaxing. By the time they came up with an „ok“ solution it was already kinda too late and we decided not to go for the massage|- although the room was clean, the bed was highly uncomfortable - there is no real mattress on the bed but a topper made of cheap material. Our backs ached really badly after just one night sleeping there|- the sushi restaurant: the staff was highly unattentive and we waited 60(min) for our food which was quite frankly bland and extremely uninspired. There were only 5 other couples being served and we left extremely confused wondering how 3 people from the staff couldn‘t manage to serve 6 tables under 60min.|For dessert we had a „cardamom-orange“ tiramisu which was again...bland...no sign of cardamom or orange whatsoever - the only thing you could taste was the cheap booze they soaked the tiramisu in. Moreover the presentation was awful - one of the tiramisu pieces (we ordered one each) had tipped over before it reached our table and looked like swallowed and spitted out but instead of bothering bringing a new piece the waitress looked at the plate, smirked and said „seems like this piece is sleeping“. Would have loved to tell her that a more accurate way of putting it would be the terms dying and vegetating.||Will definitely...
Read moreThe issue we had with this hotel was the service. From the front desk, to the housekeeping. Most hotels that we have been able to visit this year have been so welcoming. So excited and grateful to have guests. Not this hotel. ||||The front desk staff - not only were they unfriendly but unhelpful but some info was just wrong. No real welcome. No morning smiles. No offer to get you a drink while you wait for an hour for your room. When I discovered that I forgot my ski pants and asked where I could buy a pair, the front desk women said everything was closed. This was on a Friday. I went out and found nearly every store open. And then came back and told them, I got no reaction.||||Because of covid, you can only eat in the hotel. The front desk managed to botch our reservations both nights of our stay. But luckily the restaurant accommodated us nevertheless. I had email confirmations but they had no record. ||There is just no excuse for the lack of friendliness and competency. Similar experience at checkout. No "glad to have you with us" "come back again". Nothing.||||Now to the housekeeping. We left our room at 9am to ski all day. Left the "clean this room" tag on both of our rooms. Got back at 3pm and neither was cleaned. Mind you, the hotel has one floor of rooms. And this is during a pandemic. Not sure if they are at full capacity but come on. I stopped the cleaning person and she said that she is supposed to clean arrival rooms first and then current guests. What? So after a day of skiing, we had to sit in the lobby in our ski clothes to wait for the room to be cleaned. No offer of drinks from the front desk women who were just standing there!!||||Other things- food was meh. Not great. Service in the restaurant was good except for the woman who slammed our check on the table. Lobby bar which is the centerpiece of the hotel was not staffed except after dinner. No glasses of water for guests. ||Our room had a huge support pole in the middle of the bathroom- weird.||We were a couple with a teenager. They put us in rooms at completely opposite ends of the floor. No thought of maybe putting us next to each other. Just a lack of professional experience.||||The best thing- there was live music in the bar at night. ||Bottom line- we left after 2 nights even though we paid for 3 and they knew that and didnt inquire as to why. This place needs new management and staff- top to bottom.||Oh ! And...
