Hotel & Restaurant Chesa — Restaurant in Flims

The hotel's own web site classified it as a two star hotel which was surprisingly as we thought it was higher than that. In general the B&B was comfortable, clean, provided good service and adequate breakfast.||||1) Location - convenient right in the centre of Flims. It was situated on the Main Street of Flims, faced the mountains with magnificent views.||||2) Checkin - done at the restaurant and very smooth. The owner upgraded us to a better room with nice views of the mountains and gave a voucher for discounts with buses in Flims. The hotel did not have lifts but staff carried the suitcases up to the room. Went over wifi information, breakfast & dinner time etc.||||3) Restaurant - fantastic food in a nice setting restaurant. The hotel owner/restaurant chef Stefan ran the place and also was the head chef of the restaurant. The food was superb and the special deal of 3 course meal for hotel guests was reasonable. I highly recommend this option. The restaurant had stunning views across the mountains.||||4) Room - spacious with a nice alpine feel to it, was clean and had nice views. However there was room for improvements - the bathmat was far too small only the size of a hand towel and also too thin; no rubbish bin in the lounge, the only bin available was in the bathroom and not large enough. ||||5) Breakfast - a bit limited with choices but adequate. Scramble eggs, boiled or sunny side up available upon request.||||6) Service - at the restaurant & hotel was very pleasant & helpful. Staff assisted with carrying luggage to the room. We are on the 4th day of our week long stay at Hotel Chesa and are very excited to have found this gem. A wonderful hotel,with wonderful kind staff who went out of their way to ensure our stay is comfortable and our needs met. We booked a family room and have found it to be spacious, well equipped, clean and modern. The balcony we have has the most amazing views of Flims and is spacious and safe for the children. The room itself has plenty of storage space, and a side section for the toddlers bed and baby's cot. Ensuite bathroom with large tub and toiletries and hot water throughout the day- and evening. ||||We booked half board and have found the restaurant to be delightful. Breakfast is a standard Swiss affair with boiled eggs to our liking and plenty of choice. ||||Dinner deserves a commentary on its own, the food is delicious and prepared with thought and excellence. I am on a low carb diet and have found that minor adjustments have been met with great efficiency. The raspeberry and lemon sorbet woth fruits has been a dream of a dessert, to think it is also good for my diet is an absolute delight.
