We arrived late at night from Geneva airport in early July. Our French is awful but the staff here made us feel welcome and appreciated our language attempts. Check in was so simple. We received the travel card for free public transportation around the area. Our room was beyond expectations. The views of Lac Léman were spectacular. Room was lovely and the bathroom large. The historic nature and location of this iconic hotel is truly worth the room rates. And breakfast out of the patio was THE BEST way to start the day. The food was really really good and the espresso machine easy to use (they can make them for you but you can do it yourself too). Hot dishes like omelettes to order and plenty of pastries and croissant. I fell in love with the home made jams - goodness that pear jam was divine. We spent 2 weeks in Switzerland and France in special hotels and this was our favorite for the relaxing rooms, outdoor breakfast patio and ease to public transportation (tram to old part of city is a 5 minute walk and the ferries to other lake villages about 10 minute walk). If you are a solo female traveler, this is a great spot for you and very safe. Each front desk agent was EXCELLENT and also the most professional we met along our travels. We enjoyed practicing our French! Stay here. Enjoy traveling to over villages. But this is a great base for Vevey, the Lavaux wine terraces, Montreaux, and everywhere around the lake. I want to return someday! Hope you get to experience this gem with friendly and helpful staff!

The Château d'Ouchy, also known as the Castle of Ouchy, is a historic castle located on the shores of Lake Geneva in Lausanne, Switzerland. Originally built in the 12th century, the castle has undergone numerous renovations and changes throughout its long history. Today, it is a luxurious hotel that retains many of its original features, including a tower and a moat. The castle's location on the shores of Lake Geneva provides stunning views of the water and the surrounding mountains. One of the castle's most famous owners was the powerful Savoyard family, who used it as a summer residence in the 14th and 15th centuries. The castle was also the site of several important historical events, including the signing of the Treaty of Lausanne in 1564. In addition to its historical significance, the Château d'Ouchy is also known for its luxurious accommodations and amenities. The hotel offers a variety of guest rooms and suites, many of which feature stunning views of the lake. There are also several on-site restaurants, a spa, and a fitness center, making it an ideal destination for both leisure and business travelers. Overall, the Château d'Ouchy is a fascinating historical landmark and a luxurious modern hotel. Its stunning location and rich history make it a must-see destination for anyone visiting Lausanne or the surrounding area.

We’re so glad we chose Chateau d’Ouchy! It’s a nice hotel sitting directly on lake Geneva (great views every morning). The staff was kind and helpful, as well. The room came stocked with everything we’d need, even an outlet converter. The hotel is directly across from the last Lausanne metro stop, so it’s easily accessible and a super short walk when you’re tired from a long day of seeing Switzerland. Lausanne is a perfect town to start and end the every day. It’s perfectly located, so we were able to easily get to Geneva for some tours and the mountains (Glacier 3000) for skiing and snow activities with easy train rides. The photo is the view of lake Geneva and mountains from our room.

The only negative review of a three week vacation.||Booked a Deluxe Lake View room 13 months ahead. Looking forward to sunrise/sunset over amazing mountains & lake for anniversary week.||Arrived at 3:00 p.m. on the day to be told they only have a first floor room for our stay - others “all taken.”|Complained.|| (See photo of trees and patio which they call Lake View.)||I returned to reception and complained again to no avail. ||It was made crystal clear “This is the only room we have for you.” |Period.||I took this complaint to the desk before departure to make them aware of our dissatisfaction with stay and the dishonesty in charging and describing this room as lake view - more expensive than standard room.||Two young receptionists:||H. handled it well - accepted this as a valid complaint to be taken to manager. ||M. totally missed the point and spun this as my fault for not complaining yet again- I should have kept coming back to the desk for another room, and that my room - 104 - ‘is’ a lake view.|(You’d have to wait until the leaves have dropped. Does one call this dishonesty or just a poor description?)|Ms M - take lessons from your colleague there and know when to accept a valid complaint and not make comments like ‘you should have’ instead of ‘it’s unfortunate that you didn’t’ or ‘it is’ when clearly ‘it isn’t.’ Better still, just accept and pass on to management.|Your style just serves to enrage. You’re there to ‘de’escalate a dissatisfied guest not imply it’s their fault and you bear no responsibility.||Apparently my fault for not complaining enough. ||**A luxury hotel would normally take a valid complaint the first time, follow through and effect change at the earliest possible time without being repeatedly reminded.||This hotel missed this point and ‘their’ responsibility based on their response.||They could also have redeemed themselves a little and deleted the extra cost of a ‘room with’out’ a view’ as I had suggested to H. A modest concession for a view of the patio for a week.||- Manager ready and waiting at checkout. ||They didn’t.||So don’t anticipate getting the room type you booked on arrival ‘even here’ and Lake View doesn’t mean an actual view of lake; just that side of the building.|And you are expected to complain until you get what you’ve booked.||Positive aspects - room spotless, breakfast excellent - both chef and wait staff a delight. Thank You. Pleasant start to the day.||FYI - our room only had Swiss Type J outlets and no charging ports for devices. Bring adapters and cords for the outlets at bathroom sink and floor level - if you do risk a booking here.|And demand to speak to a manager if they don’t have the room you booked. The front desk staff just play interference. ||I will certainly not be staying here again.|It left a very bad taste.|When I reserve a ~ U.S. $650/night room type, a year in advance, I expect to get that room at a hotel of this standing. |First night. |Without being expected to complain. |Repeatedly.|||It’s possible there will be a defensive response to this review and likely with a spin. |So be it. |Those are the...

Our stay at Château d’Ouchy in Lausanne was nothing short of magical. The location is unbeatable—right on the edge of Lake Geneva with breathtaking views that never got old. From the moment we stepped into the hotel, we were struck by its beauty and the incredible scent that greets you in the lobby.

We were lucky enough to stay on the sixth floor of the medieval tower, which felt like something out of a fairytale—such a unique and memorable experience. As Hilton Diamond members, we enjoyed complimentary breakfast each morning, which quickly became a highlight of our day. The food was delicious, and we were always warmly welcomed by a fantastic waitress whose name I wish I remembered—she made every morning brighter with her kindness.

We ended up dining at the hotel restaurant three times because the food was just that good. A special shoutout to Clémentine, who always greeted us with a smile and made our dinners truly enjoyable. The steak with house-made sauces was especially memorable.

The location couldn’t be more convenient—it’s close to the metro, ferry, and plenty of restaurants and attractions. The room was well-appointed with a great selection of teas, coffee, and a mini fridge stocked with water, soda, and beer. They even surprised us with a bottle of local wine, which was such a thoughtful and delicious touch.

To top it off, we treated ourselves to a couples massage and spent a few relaxing hours in the spa afterward—it was the perfect way to unwind.

This hotel made our honeymoon unforgettable. Every detail was thoughtful, the staff was outstanding, and the setting was simply stunning. We truly can’t recommend Château...
