What can I say, this is by far the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in Taiwan. I’ll leave it to you to explore the beauty of Hualien. I know some tourists might argue Hualien is too remote to get to. But boy have you missed out. My recommendation: come stay at Le Meridien, and explore what Hualien has to offer in food, world-class scenery in both mountains and ocean, and enjoy the cuisine, all without having to battle through the hustle and bustle in your typical crowded Asian city. On to Le Meridien. We are so lucky to have come stay in a facility that was just opened. EVERYTHING is brand new. Staff was professional and friendly, and best yet, it’s such a hidden gem that we get to embrace every facility with staff’s 100% attention! Room was super roomy and our kids (15,13, and

Yes, the property is new but the staff are still poorly trained - checking in and checking out were both slow and attracted a group of staff to the computer screen. The lobby area is extremely dark and unanimated. Breakfast is included in the price but there are only two options on a set menu, and these options did not change from one day to the next. This in a hotel which charges $750 CDN a night.
I would give a lot of credit to the concierge service though - there were two staff we encountered at the concierge desk and they were both extremely helpful and attentive.
We had been looking forward to staying at this property in particular because it presented itself as a higher standard compared to all the other hotels in Hualien. We tried hard to like the place but found very little to recommend it, especially at that price. ...
Read moreLove this beautiful property! Was and is definitely worth the train ride down from Taipei. Rooms are spacious, aesthetically pleasing and still have the “brand new car smell”. Gym is big and has plenty of equipment for anyone to get a good work out in. I’m compelled to write this review while still staying at the resort to share how wonderful of an experience we are having during Chinese New year. Compliments to the chef regarding the tasty food thus far for breakfast, The whole staff is friendly and accommodating and I’d like to thank Alex who never seems to be off from his concierge duties. The moment we arrived, Alex was there to grab our bags, helped us with food recommendations and directions and helped book us train tickets for our final check out day which is going to come way too soon to the airport. Thanks again for all of your help Alex. We really appreciate your hard work...
