TASTY — Restaurant in Hualien City

Had the most unsatisfying meal in Taiwan. For a 6 course meal the servers gave the impression that they are working in a fast-food place. Service was clumsy and rushed. Servers made a lot of noise shuffling around and clearing the used dishes. They need more training. Even though the decor is supposed to be inviting, we didn't feel relax or comfortable in the restaurant.

The dishes looked better than their taste. Gartin and Pumpkin soup were good. We ordered beef stew but found that the beef was over tenderised and flavor wise I only tasted HP sauce. Perhaps this is how Taiwanese like their beef stew. The table next to us ordered beef steak but it seems they didn't rest enough. Creme brulee was also disappointing. Salad leaves crunchy but dressing just meh. Abit of citrus fruit in the dressing will make it...

一顆星是我在半年內三次造訪西堤花蓮店之後，綜合先前經驗所給予的評價~ 先講結論，我認為花蓮店的品質與其他連鎖的西堤比起來服務品質與餐點品質相對參差不齊~

餐點方面： 主食方面：牛排的熟度我點七分，上來時卻像全熟一樣，又柴又沒嚼勁，上餐時肉也不是熱的，品質完全不像是需要特別加價點的「特餐」；而另一份雞腿，卻是熟度不足、還帶有血水的，像服務生反映之後，也只是將原餐點回收加熱，再端回而已。 按照在西部的西堤分店經驗，若遇到此等狀況，都會一律準備一份全新的餐點，並附上額外的小點心作為補償；然而這次的處置卻讓人感到有些意外。(雖然第三次的造訪主餐品質有所改善，但一次不佳的經驗卻令我十分難忘)

湯品：最近兩次的用餐所端上的濃湯都不是熱的，喝起來口感盡失，讓人對於廚房完成餐點到送餐的時間間格感到困惑不已。

甜點：雖然應該是總公司食譜的問題，但仍想一併反映~ 蘋果派竟然是幾片蘋果+酥皮，讓我感到匪夷所思...

環境： 1.座位安排：二樓用餐空間座位的安排其實滿糟的，顯得有些壅擠，三次坐的位子都在餐車行進的路線上，常感覺服務人員與熱食都在身旁穿梭，感受非常糟糕；更不用說附近用餐人員的聊天聲音常常影響到用餐品質，況且目前仍在疫情期間，周遭人員都沒有戴口罩在大聲聊天，其實會讓人有防疫相關的疑慮。

2.衛生疑慮：有餐點的地方難免都會有果蠅、蒼蠅，但每次造訪都遇到，頻率就有點高了~ 我過去至少在西部不同的西堤用餐過超過20次，可以說從未遇到過蒼蠅飛到餐點旁邊的經驗，在這裡的情境實在讓人嘆為觀止。

服務人員： 1.造訪過多家西堤連鎖分店後，與花蓮店最大的差異就是服務人員的專業程度。我們不只一次被服務人員忽略/忘記我們的需求，加麵包、沙瓦，這些每家西堤都會提供的服務項目，在花蓮店卻接連被服務人員給遺忘，令人感到相當遺憾。

2.更不用說有好幾位人員面對我們的態度十分冷漠、平淡，也許是工作的繁忙或是應對客人感到緊張，無論如何，這些比身為客人的我們對他們的態度還要差，就有些本末倒置了~而這些也是我在其他分店不曾遇到過的！

3.過去曾向時任店長(吳先生)反映，得到的回覆是那些是新進的客人會再教育，而令人不解的是這是否意味著職前訓練的不足?...

The place can be quite busy so it might be best to have a reservation. We didn't but the wait was only maybe 10-15 mins. The staff was very friendly, attentive and knew some English. Although the restaurant looks like you should wear formal attire many were in jeans and casual shirts. All of the food was very delicious and the wait between each course...
