Kindness Hotel Glory Pier — Hotel in Kaohsiung

We had a great experience at this Kindness Hotel. We stayed here for a couple nights, and our experience was very good. The staff were super friendly this location near the Liuhe Night Market.

Upon entering the hotel, the public spaces (lobby and restaurant) were very clean. While our room was non-smoking, The room and bathroom were both very spacious. The bed and pillows were firm, but comfortable.

The hotel offered an extensive complimentary breakfast buffet with both western and Asian options.The variety of Chinese dishes on the buffet was especially impressive. The hotel restaurant also offers a complimentary snack buffet that included cakes, puddings, ice cream, tofu pudding, steamed pork buns, pork rice dumplings, juices and teas. You could even make it a light dinner if you weren't too picky and too tired to venture out for dinner. There is also a complimentary laundry room in the back of the restaurant area, with washers and dryers, and free detergent. Free bicycles are also available for hotel guests. The room also comes with free wifi, which was pretty good from our room on the 7th floor.

The hotel is about 10 minute walk west from Formosa Blvd MRT station and 10 minutes east from the City Council MRT station. A 10 minute walk northeast brings you to the Liu He Night Market, which extends for several city blocks and has a variety of goods on offer, but the the fantastic food is what brings most people to the night market.

Stayed here for solo work trip, but will definitely be back with family as it is such good value! A stone's throw from the Guang Rong Pier Tram stop, it was very easy to get here and to get around. The staff of the hotel were very friendly and patient and obliging despite my exceedingly poor command of Mandarin and their lack of English. The best bit about the hotel was, quite aside from a breakfast buffet, there is a free flow of hot and cold drinks, snacks and ice cream in the lobby at all hours, as well as a "late night snack buffet" of porridge, noodles and other condiments available from 8-10pm.
