I chose Muzik Hotel because it was one of my best stays during my trip to Taipei in 2019. I usually stick to the same hotel if it meets my needs, so I decided to return for a second visit after five years. Unfortunately, this experience fell far short of my expectations.||From the moment I stepped into the lift, I was disappointed—it was dusty and unkempt. The hotel lobby is located on Level 3 and operates only from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., which is quite inconvenient. Thankfully, I arrived before the reception closed. However, I met a couple the next evening who arrived at 8 p.m. and found themselves stranded. Without service staff, they couldn’t access the lobby or retrieve their room key unless someone let them in to use the self-help check-in kiosk.||This limited reception service posed additional challenges, such as when we needed extra toiletries at night. We had to make an external call to their main branch for assistance. Moreover, as the reception doesn’t open until 10 a.m., the breakfast service at the Xining branch was non-existent. I had to collect breakfast from the Ximending branch, which offers 24-hour reception services.||The moment I entered my room, I was shocked. The room was much more smaller than before, had a musty smell, and the wallpaper and paint were noticeably worn out. It felt more like a budget hotel, than a three star hotel. To make matters worse, the hotel doesn’t change bed linens unless the stay exceeds five or six nights, and the towels provided were stained.||Unfortunately, I couldn’t cancel the booking as it was non-refundable.||I gave 2 stars solely because of the friendly staff and the hotel’s proximity to Ximending. Read moreFirst few stay is good. This time is bad. BEYOND DISAPPOINTING. Room has strange 2 concrete pillars adjacent to each other beside the bed which is prone to accident. Went 3rd floor to reception ask change room since we will extend our stay reception guy is rude and impolite. Not friendly. Like literally hes like talking to someone who did not pay. Went up to ask my taiwan boyfriend and talk to him. When i went up my bf stay on 3rd floor. So left the keycard. And this guy maliciously gave my boyfriend a warning about "we dont do this here" implying that we are doing something strange and nasty in the hotel. BASIC COMMON SENSE: if we are doing something bad or whatever he is thinking on his small head, Why would i even ask to get transfered to the rooms on 3rd floor where the reception is located? 😂 Funny enough that I am a Diamond + Member here which means i spent hefty amounts of money travelling and booking different hotels. But above all this is the only hotel i experienced being insulted. will never go back here for a while. The other reception staff are nice but the guy with Max last night he have a tattoo, his attitude is horrible. He speaks as if he owns the hotel.
