Visited this place twice. First time visited on a night time at around 8pm and the shop was closed. Not sure if the operating hours in Google is correct as it was indicated it closes at 9pm. Visited the second time during noon and it was open. It was crowded but there were seats available. Basically there are not many options available but its pretty safe to pick from the list of the 5 popular items. I ordered the one on the top of the list but I am not a fan of corn so I asked the guy if I could replace it with something else and he said okay. I asked for Taro and I thought it would be more expensive but the price turned out to be the same. There are 3 items on the bowl but one can customize and add more items if you like. I thought it was expensive but turned out the size of the bowl is pretty big I think its a pretty good size for 2 to share but I managed to finish the whole bowl myself. I like the way the condiments were made in the gluey state and it is only mildly sweet. The peanuts were very delicious and soft and the balls were chewy. As a taro lover with high expectations, the taro definitely hit all the requirements. Had it on a cooling day, but I suppose it will definitely be a better dessert in the hot summer Taipei....
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place. The dessert was mediocre, the brown sugar lacked fragrance, and I suspect the toppings might be pre-made. On top of that, each bowl costs at least NT$80, which makes the value for money quite poor. What disappointed me the most was the service attitude. I paid with NT$10 coins and even helped count them, but was met with obvious impatience and indifference. It felt like I was being a burden just for being a paying customer. I believe consumers deserve at least a basic level of respect and courtesy.
Read moreIt seems every country has their own version of a shaved ice dessert. This store serves a traditional taiwanese ice dessert that you must try at least once while visiting Taiwan.
I had the taro and peanut toppings with pudding on top of the shaved ice. It tasted good and not too sweet. I've had better taro at other dessert shops but this one was OK. It was kind of bland in flavor and texture slightly hard.
I tried their famous corn topping but wasn't a fan. It was more savory and when you eat it with the sweet toppings, it just feels wrong in your mouth. Maybe it's because I'm not used to that flavor growing up? But I saw a lot of people ordering it.
The dining tables are outdoors so it's very very hot despite...
