「撫臺街洋樓」是一間目前台北城中最古老的建築,建於日據時期西元一九一〇年,而「撫台街」是延平南路的舊稱。建築外觀造型優雅,深受歐陸古典建築風格影響,最大特色為立面有陡斜屋頂、斜屋頂上的老虎窗、石造拱廊柱等,典雅地模樣,相當耐看。 撫臺街洋樓雖然因為是當時城內罕見的獨棟式店鋪,而在日據時代逃過拆除的命運,後經國防部宿舍、中醫診所、廢墟、面臨拍賣到二〇〇二年二月二十六日慘遭祝融之災,一路坎坷。 直至二〇〇六年八月由臺北市政府文化局修建,二〇〇七年十二月修建完成,才重新以「認識台北舊城歷史」的迷你型博物館,再顯於眾人眼前。 "Futai Street Foreign House" is currently the oldest building in Taipei City. And the lady working here is also very kind and good guide with excellent English...
