I do not have anything negative to say about this hotel. It was clean and everyone was friendly. The staff spoke great English and always helped me if I had any questions. I had a great sleep at night and was never bothered by noise in the hallway or outside. The air conditioner worked great and I had no problems with it. The bathrooms were clean and everything was easy to use. They have body wash, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste and toothbrushes for each night you are there. They could use some new blow dryers in the women's bathroom on the 5th floor as one seems to turn off and on all on its own and the other one blows very slow but that's all I can think of that might need repairs. The hotel is very close to an MRT station, about a 2-3 minute walk (also close to the airport express train) and it is very close to the Taipei Mitsukoshi department store (on floor B2 there is a currency exchange office and you can also get some tax money back if you purchase something in the mall and show your passport, just take your receipt to B2). Literally across the road from the hotel is a main bank branch "First bank". The machine let me instantly take out Canadian money with no fee's and was super simple. There are English speaking staff to help you out as well if you get confused. I tried taking money out at family mart and 7-11 and everything was in Chinese and it kept spitting out my card. Just use First Bank across the road. A wash machine and dryer are on the top level of the hotel, which you pay to use but the detergent for the clothes is free, just grab some at the front desk. I loved this hotel and if I return to Taipei I would definitely...
Read morePlease Note: This is the first hostel I have ever decided to stay, mainly because of the convenience of being close to the main station and really wanted to give hostels a try at least once in my life. So please keep in mind, this review is solely based off one visit (night) at a hostel.
So I decided to stay at the basement level; which I was told was the quietest and after visiting seemed to have the best bathrooms of them all. Probably because they don't share with as many people as the other floors. I didn't mind the darkness; as long as it was quiet.
Unfortunately, the noise was an extreme issue for me; especially after 2 am till morning. Mainly because the walls are paper-thin; so you hear people talking on what I believe were different levels of the hostel.
Over-all, bathrooms were probably my least favorite, as the shower especially was either extremely on fire or just too damn hot. There is a fine line between hot and cold and it took two showers and perseverance to finally get it to function somewhat properly. Also, both times the drain was not allowing water to depart fast enough; so you literally stand in a puddle of shower water. Sadly, I noticed long hairs and other things floating in the water.
My suggestion is if you decide to stay, please be certain to carry a good set of earplugs and prepare to drown out some of the noise with the air conditioner unit; which worked for the most part... And who knows, maybe your shower experience won't be as bad as mine was.
If you found this helpful, please let me know with a quick "Like"; so I can be aware that the time spent is helping someone along their...
Read moreStayed for 3 nights for the business trip from Japan. Loved here a lot🧡
Based on the ratings on the Google maps and the location from the main workplace during the stay, I decided to book this hotel.
I took a bus from Songshuang airport to Taipei station front stop 🚏 it was about 10 mins walk from the bus stop.
The hotel appearance looks very stylish and easy to find, the front desk was very polite but casual 😁 the room is very compact, but clean and neat. Small fridge, security box, sandals are set in the room, and there were 2 hangers on the wall. I chose the "with window" room and it was great for me to feel the sunlight in the morning.
One bottled water and one big towel are provided. Without the reminder to the front desk, your towel won't be changed after 3 nights, eco-friendly mindset 😃
The air conditioner worked perfectly to keep the room cool. Two charging outlet plugs are enough for my devices.
The shared bathroom are also well cleaned. The changing space was a bit small but you are challenged changing the clothes in the small box. The hair dryer power was a bit weak, but was okay.
You can supply your hot/cold/lukewarm water in your bottle at the underground floor.
Landry room on the roof top floor(no elevator but step from the 6th floor) was a bit tricky to use. Needed to insert 10twd coins depends on the number of slits. You can get a detergent ball at the front desk for free.
It cost 70twd for 2 days of clothes including washing and drying.
There are seven eleven and massage shops nearby and many bus stops round
Overall, I enjoyed the...
